Nope..Anna or someone will stream Jackbox, so you watch the stream. They have the game. You will use your browser to log into Jackbox.TV with a 4 digit code that links you to the game being streamed. You will use your browser to answer questions and play the games.

I haven't. And I decided not to join because I felt severely depressed tonight. So when I realized a lot of people would be either on voice or video, I just didn't have it in me to do the same.

I played What Remains of Edith Finch instead. That was a good choice because it was a GREAT game.

I think it's more that her laptop starts to get too hot and it knocks out the built in webcam is my guess.

What I'd love to know is why it only happens with Discord, roughly around 2 hours of use. 3 1/2 hours on Google Home and it was fine. But it's also a 5-6 year old laptop.

I've noticed that discord is not particularly gentle with system resources. Especially CPU - it uses way more processor power than a simple chat program should (I suspect it's because their rendering engine for embedded media is not particularly optimized or elegant). Laptops' biggest heat generators are usually their CPU.

That's honestly helpful to know. You guys have seen me try to join in! And since this is the only thing I'd need an external cam for, I doubt it's worth it. You're just going to have to assume I'm a lying alien.

The gofundme crack was a gag, you can get a passable cam for 30 bucks. But you know, if you don't WANNA join in the webcam shenanigans, then hey... or maybe when december rolls around, your next secret santa will remember this post ;)

We're playing right now, and play every Friday at 7pm Mountain Time. All you would need is the Discord app (either on PC or a phone or w/e) to watch the stream (and be on Halforums Discord), and the ability to log in with a web browser at the same time.

I swear @GasBandit has been emailing my husband because he just gifted me with a new laptop for my birthday! Hopefully I'll be able to stay on video now! But I also have to transfer all my links and passwords (.....nooooooooooo, uuuuuuughhhhhhh...) and it's Windows 10 (.....nooooooooooo, uuuuuuughhhhhhh...) so keep your fingers crossed I'm up and running on Friday.
