Nintendo Switch Thread

The story is fun. The combat system gets old fast.
Short answer fuck boos. Long answer
has an instant KO attack he spams every other turn or if you fuck up during phase 1. He is the only boss to be so unforgiving.

Picked up Ringfit Adventure.
I want to get moving more, and an indoor option is preferred, since it's currently too hot to do anything outside, and I expect the gyms to reclose in the fall, so need to plan for winter.
Did the configuration and the first 3 levels/1st "world".
My knees still hate squats, but aside from that it did an excellent job lightly kicking my ass. I'm sweating, but nothing hurts bad.

Check back tomorrow and let us know.

I return victorious. And sweaty. Very sweaty.

I noticed my ankle was bugging me a bit this morning, so today I wore shoes since now I know there's a lot of jogging in place. That seemed to help a lot.
And my knees still hate squats.

Finally was quick enough to get a switch without getting gouged.
I’ve got some family friendly games that we’d all enjoy, but any recommendations beyond that?
I already finished the initial run through the goose game.
I don’t think I’ll get into AC. My daughter may want it, and I don’t share well. I’m sure I’ll play it, but won’t sink a ton of time in to it.
I was thinking Zelda: BOTW, but wanted to see what all else is out there first, since I probably won’t buy another for a while.

Zelda : BOTW truly fantastic. I almost feel like it is a must for any Switch owner.

Zelda it is.

It is fun watching how quick my 4 year old picks up on the controls for these games. He hasn’t ever been in to playing games before, or even had any interest. He really enjoys Mario, and the goose game. Although we did have a “STUPID GAME” moment where he threw the controller. Had to have a talk about that.

Zelda is awesome!

You can’t go wrong with Mario Kart.

Animal Crossing is fantastic :)

The Pokémon games are super fun if that’s your thing.

I will send a friend request later on. I’m Cupcake with the same picture that I use here. :)

Zelda BOTW I revisit every year or so. It's wonderful.
If you want a game the entire family can play I recommend Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime.

We got Animal Crossing, because it’s the game my daughter wanted. Since I got it for her, I let her be the primary account. She isn’t playing enough and not unlocking the stuff I want. :(

I’m enjoying Zelda BOTW though, so back to that.

I bought a Switch and Animal Crossing at the beginning of the lockdown because my kids were begging me. They were sold out everywhere, and I just happened by sheer luck to be in Walmart when a shipment came in. Anyway, all of us thought AC was the most boring game we ever played. Even watching the videos of all the "neat" things you could do was boring. I don't understand the popularity. It was like playing dollhouse, only with a mortgage. So...the Switch sat there for months gathering dust. Finally I put it on FB marketplace and made a profit. AC went at a loss. There were nice games, but Nintendo never lowers the prices on the big games, and they weren't appealing enough to drop $60 each on. I'm sure they're great, but none of us were big on it.

I am very excited now that I'll be able to play Super Mario All Stars again. It's been years since I've played the game and it was one of my favorite ways to play the original trilogy.
The 3D All Stars looks great too. I'll definitely be putting in the $ for that.

Me:

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity

A prequel to Breath of the Wild set 100 years in the past, detailing the events of the Calamity from the perspectives of Link, Zelda, and the four Champions. It looks like gameplay will be based on the Hyrule Warriors series, but with differences based on Breath of the Wild's gameplay shifts.

Oh man, this is going to be a sad story, isn't it...

So I got 3D All Stars (I've pre ordered it because god knows how much it will be worth), but the NSP came out today) and even though all the games are running on emulators, I'm amazed at how Mario 64 has real-time HD texture patching while you're playing the game, and only once did I catch a texture changing from the original to the sharper crisp ones.

However it soft resets the Switch whenever I get out of Mario 64,doesn't happen with Galaxy nor Sunshine. I'll only know if this is a piracy thing when the physical game actually arrives here.
