Canadian Politics

They sold off a ton of public parks and removed environmental protections that have been in place since the 70s all to bring back more coal here.

They invested the pensions of Albertans in failing oil projects and halved the money there.

This government is criminal.

Chris Champion is the guy in charge of Social Studies curriculum in Alberta now. Chris Champion, writer of articles such as "Special Rights for Sodomites" and "Abuse Made Me Gay, Now I Have AIDS".

Two teacher friends I have (who are THRILLED to be going back to school with no plan or money to enact any kind of plan) say that they are now required to follow curriculum exactly with no variation.

Alberta is a wasteland.

I can't wait for Kenney to swoop in and take control of the federal Conservatives.

Look at the smoldering mess I left Alberta.

Leadership you can trust to steal literally every cent from your pension.

Did you watch the leadership "show"? I hesitate to call it a convention because I felt terrible for their announcers. They were in no way prepared to fill the dead airspace to cover the six plus hours of delays and they themselves referred to the voting issues as a dumpster fire.

Or do you mean the new leader? That, I have no comment on. I'm afraid I'm not familiar with him.

what a bunch of projecting whiney babies.

IKR. People here are not very happy about this whole "election during a pandemic" thing. I'll still vote NDP but only because the bc "liberals" (socreds in disguise) are terrible.

Halifax elections are over, hurray for everyone! Record turn out it seems, heard reported that more people voted in the early poll, by phone or by internet than voted in the previous election.

Some huge dog fights too! District 1, 12 are tight and district 11 is still too close to call.

And a record number of women elected as well!

Two-Tiered healthcare plans just passed in Alberta.

Awesome. Continue to be the worst government we've ever had. Just lovingly shattering the remnants of this province into more and more pieces.

So the Conservative government in Ontario made a law that if they don't put out certain documents by certain dates, the officials responsible get fined.

Since covid threw the budget out the window in the spring, the finance minister and premier had to fine themselves.

Weird.

Current minority government. Any throne speech or financial bill is automatically a confidence motion. Our opposition put forth a bill that the government dislikes so the government turned it into a confidence vote. Scheduled for this afternoon. If it gets the support of the house, chaos.

Your new curriculum got leaked.

Ooops.

Alberta's healthcare workers are now "ILLEGALLY" striking.

Tyler Shandro can eat all the fucking shit. Reap what you sow you greedy fuck.

While that's funny, meanwhile in Alberta, our "LOCKDOWN" has been announced. All businesses stay open, including bars, restaurants, casinos, brothels, etc. but holy fuck if you have someone over to your house, you better believe that's illegal.

We have no ICU beds left.

I live in the dumbest fucking place in Canada.

You're legally allowed to have more people inside of a restaurant than you are at an outdoor socially distanced gathering.

Oh and indoor school will be ended....in a week or so.

Did I mention we're at ICU capacity?
