We just not going to talk about the whole " where I hide to eat" thing?
Well, I like being alone. I have 1 hour for lunch, that place is next the parking lot, no one can see me there and before the pandemic I spent one hour daily having lunch and listening audiobooks.

When I just started my job I would eat lunch in my car so I wouldn’t have to answer the phone when it rang when I wasn’t supposed to have to be working. When I got more comfortable with the job I’d just say that I wasn’t answering it.

My previous was less than a 10-minute drive from my house. I would go home every day for lunch 1) to let our dog out, 2) to save $ on food and 3) to be the hell away from my coworkers for an hour.

I think my supervisor hates our intern. She's always complaining about how he's not performing at an adequate level, and that he's not as good as our previous interns. Which is true, to some extent, but that's because our previous interns all tended to be amazing, so this guy represents a more realistic standard for the kind of intern we can get. Lately she's been saying she's thankful we only need to deal with this intern for two more weeks, when his internship ends, and we can get someone new.

I mean, I work with this guy pretty closely, and I can tell he's a hard worker and quite professional. It's just that his language skills let him down sometimes. But when I try to point this out to my supervisor, she gets even more irrationally critical of the intern. I have no idea what her problem is with him, she's usually not like this.

She could be taking the percieved quality of the intern as a personal affront to her status. I.E. She no longer has the "best" intern, someone else does, and it makes her look less prestigious. So it doesn't matter that he's supposed to be there to learn the job, it only matters that he's not raising her prestige.

My best guess is that the old interns needed very little hand-holding, while this current one needs more attention from her, so in effect she has a heavier workload with this intern. As a result it feels like he's creating more work for her, but in fact this should be considered a normal amount of attention and work when it comes to interns.

I mean, I get it, no one likes having a heavier workload, and she really does already have a lot on her plate. But there are times I feel like she's going a bit overboard with how much she complains about and criticizes this guy.

My second best guess is that they were actually hooking up and then broke up.

Having students and interns is a huge amount of work for a manager. Training them, keeping them busy and trying to help them through their school requirements (forms and projects etc) is a ton of work. If you have a student who isn’t interested/motivated/getting it after many explanations it is incredibly frustrating.

He may be creating way more work for her than he is helping her complete.

I've gotten at least 8 spoofed phone calls today from "Amazon" today, from my mobile phone's exchange. I've held on the line long enough to tell the same girl to go fuck herself. She would not let me speak to the manager.

Gary actually made some very bad financial decisions that put him in dire straits. You buy three airplanes and then all of a sudden, wham! You're in the poorhouse. Nothing to get the police involved, but apparently he had to rush a bit to get his finances back in order. Quite the journey he's been on.

I did a huge dumb last week. I had a call and I answered with voice and my coworker with video. He wanted to talk with video so I said sure let me grab a shirt. Omg, that was not what I meant!!!?! However, that won’t ever die. I meant let me grab a hoodie as I was wearing a tank top. Brutal.

I thought because this was the big meeting that more people would be here. I'm one of about 3 people on my side of the building. None of my old team is here. I was planning on going down and eating lunch but I don't think I will. I won't know many people and would just end up eating sad & alone.

Well, this happened today. A subway in Hamburg collided with a drill head in a tunnel. Luckily this didn't turn into something serious. Three people got injured because of the sudden emergency brake. The link leads to a German news article but there are some pictures showing the train a the size of the drill

Como estás?
Bien! Y tu?
Look, I'm only buying eight (8) brussel sprouts.
Ah yeah so you've finally gone off the deep end. I mean we saw it coming, if I'm honest.
Welcome back! How are you?
Not so bad, and you?
Howdy do, friendorino!
Howdy!

It's good to check in. I don't know how long it's been. A while. I'm fond of this place. It's nice that much of it is as I remember...
