I used to use the share button, then take a snip of what it pastes, then replace it. In the preview it does show up correctly, or at least used to.

Got it to S_AKE on guess 3, the final 3 were STAKE, SLAKE, & then finally SHAKE

I've been using the snip tool to take a grab of the pasted blocks. If you try to post the reply as formatted it doesn't work, but take a screen grab of it and then delete it and paste the screen grab and post that.

This is why I've never thought about playing the harder mode. Sometimes it's too useful to make a strategic wrong guess to eliminate letters.
