I’ve attended 3 different weddings (no repeat brides or grooms) that this mix would have been perfect at. One was my daughter’s wedding.
I'm not really sure why they are bigger. Maybe for easier parking or as a help for pregnant women. Or get faster in the car in case of danger. The purpose of women parking spots is to give women a save area to park their cars in so called "Angsträumen", areas of fear, like parking garages. These parking spots are usually closer to exits, well lit and have a direct camera surveillance.
