Really? The stubborn insistence that the shadow of the light fixture on the countertop really WAS still there and could be scrubbed off, in the light of plain evidence, and repeated doubling down on the falsehood, refusing to admit that he could be wrong/tricked, with an insistence of "I'M NOT STUPID. I CAN SEE IT" didn't remind you of a certain American political faction?

I had considered that, but given your phrasing I expected something more overt. I was wondering if it was something the tv announcers were saying that I couldn't pick up on.

There's an entertainer who uses that stage name, real name Annie Hawkins-Turner, I wonder if that's her hometown?
...I'm not going to google beyond the name while I'm at work, for what I hope are obvious reasons.
