The danger there is that political suppression could occur by trying to convict candidates of false crimes.

This hush money thing is so stupid. His fans don't care what he has done. Why did he try to cover it up.

I'm loving all the memes and cartoons and stuff about it, but sadly I very seriously doubt it'll cost him the elections.
It just means the judicial system is now next to the election system as one of the Deep State Owned Terrible Things You can't Trust.

Trump is well on his way to re-election, and honestly I can't think of anything Biden can do at this point to stop it. He's losing the youth over Israel, he's losing progressives over cultural wars, he's losing moderates to Kennedy; while the economy HAS improved he just can't make people feel/believe it, and, honestly, he's simply not as inspiring as an Obama was or a Trump is.
