I must be the target audience for trailers, because I always get excited for them. Sometimes I’ll lose interest in a film. Sometimes the ending will be blown. But I’ve come to appreciate the presentation of trailers, especially in action films that more often incorporate the action into the beat of the music choices.

It took about 5 watches for me to realize that was Nathan Fillion.
It at least looks like it has heart, which I was worried would be missing in a post-2k superhero movie.
The glimpses of Clark have him looking vulnerable and "human," which I also appreciate.
Like @Sparhawk , though, I'm withholding final judgement until after I see the movie. So...maybe by 2030 or so?

If anyone is on the fence about the trailer, I just saw this quote:
So, some people may love this Superman, and for others, it might not be for them. But it's not going to be a bait-and-switch, thematically, anyway. I'm hoping for the best. Gunn surprised the hell out of me with the first Guardians, and those films became Mr. Z's favorite in the MCU. I'm hoping he'll have the right touch for Superman.
I hope it's half as good as that trailer made me feel. Haven't been excited for a live action superhero movie in a long time.
I am optimistic about the movie because of James Gunn, but the only thing the marketing has done to sell me on the movie is Krypto. The trailer isn't bad -- I appreciate the nostalgic notes that it hits, but I'm also concerned that the cinematography is too reminiscent of the DCEU films. Also, it doesn't really give us a sense or the tone or the take on the characters.
I just wish they'd borrow an idea from the first Captain America movie campaign and let us get a feel for what Superman is like as a person. I have read that James Gunn has taken some inspiration from All-Star Superman. If this scene is in the movie, they should give Superman his "Steve jumps on a grenade" moment and put it in the second trailer:

I guess that my worry in more about the suits at WB screwing it up than Gunn’s ability. I know they promised to let him do his thing, but Supes has more history and expectation with him than the Guardians did. I really do want it to be good. DC tells a different type of story than Marvel/MCU does.
My main concern after watching that trailer is that there's a lot going on in this movie. Hopefully it won't spend a lot of time explaining Krypton to us - like the Tom Holland Spider-Man movies didn't bother rehashing his origin yet again because people already knew it, we don't need Supe's origins again. Same with who Lex is & why he hates Superman. He's Lex, that's all you need to know.
Hawkgirl though? A lot of moviegoers are probably gonna need an explanation. Same with Mr Terrific. Metamorpho is definitely gonna need an explanation. As will Guy Gardener - even if the typical moviegoer is familiar with a GL, they probably don't know this GL.
The weird glowing thing in the sky (Solaris?) will also need some time even if all we get is "this is the thing Lex made to kill Superman" (& I have complete faith that Gunn will do a much better job with that than Snyder did with Doomsday in BvS).
Can't help worrying that either a) a lot of stuff won't be adequately explained leaving the movie a confusing mess to a large chunk of viewers, or b) Superman will barely be in the new "Superman" movie. I want to believe the movie will be worthy of the character but...DC/WB.

I actually don't think they need to explain any of that. They just need to establish that Clark is entering into a world that already has superheroes. People know what a superhero is by now, and if I had to guess what the vibe of the movie is going to be, these metahumans likely work for private corporations (like Stagg Industries) or are otherwise in cynical roles, and Superman as the new kid on the block has to come in and prove that there's a better way.

This might sound like a bit of a petty whine, but... I don't like how the trailer starts with Superman having had the crap kicked out of him and having to be rescued by Krypto. I feel like this is not the tone I want my first impression of this Superman to be. Superman is supposed to embody strength, hope, and determination against overwhelming odds. Our first glimpse of him being him lying bloodied and helpless in the snow feels off, somehow.
This is not to say Superman can't have the crap kicked out of him. Pretty much all Superman movies (and many Superman stories in the comics) have involved Superman getting the crap kicked out of him. But he gets back up.
If I could make an MCU analogy, think of Cap standing alone against Thanos's army right before the portals open. Again, bloodied, beaten... but on his feet and ready to do the right thing. That's the kind of tone I would hope to see from Superman.

I am a bit shocked that the new Superman looks a lot like a young Nathan Fillion.
I am expecting that opening to be the movie's final scene, right after the defeat of the BBEG. Krypto is being called to take the both of them home so Kal-El can, uh, lick his wounds.

This is in the opening scenes. We see Superman defeat the fire-breathing monster shown in the trailer. He poses, waves to everyone, giving off the air of invincibility to everyone, then he flies off. We then switch to the Arctic and we see him land like that. Showing he is much more hurt than he was letting on. His confidence shaken, he retreats to heal and contemplate the future. This sets up a story about Superman feeling vulnerable, but also like he can't show that to the public. So he stays in isolation for a while.
This leads to villains taking advantage of his absence. The other JLS members step in to try to fill the void (boy raising the flag and Mr. Terrific seeming to respond to that spot, etc). When he does resurface, it's much later and the world is in turmoil. People react negatively to Supes being gone so long and he is not even sure he wants to come back. One existential crisis later and Lex is enacting some plan to take over, thus necessitating Superman's return to action. He has that moment with Lois with the glowy color thingy out the window (Lex's whatever attacking the city) and he goes out to kick ass with the rest of the JLS. Thingy defeated, they discover the tie to Luthor. The final scene is Lex being dropped off at a jail in a nod to the first Superman film.
