[News] Face, meet Leopard.

True enough.
There's a pretty big belief among Republicans that I've noticed that all of this "rounding up immigrants" will only apply to those not working or in Democratic cities, and not to all of those working under-paid but essential jobs for them.
We'll see.

...the Expectations Index — which measures consumers' short-term outlook on income, business, and the labor market — [fell] 12.6 points to a five-month low of 81.1[...] That's close to the threshold of 80, which typically signals a recession[...]
The data marks a steep turnaround after two months of growing consumer optimism.

I still don't get how "we're going to bring back millions of low-level, low-paid jobs" and "we're going to deport everyone doing the current low-level jobs" are supposed to go together, especially in a market like the US where there isn't a lot of unemployment to begin with.

"Donald Trump Does What He Has Done His Entire Life, Some People Still Manage to Be Shocked!"

Whomp, whomp to them.

It's like they tried to spray mace into the wind and then were shocked when it came back and hit them in the face.

Plucky, go getter americans with unparalleled work ethic will just love getting that 3rd income source... a workday is 26 hours, right ?

See, that's your problem, you're using the dictionary definition of teh word, when what they mean is that they're still not saying the quite part out loud ALL the time...

It's simply a bunch of "respectable" dog whistles that keep getting louder and louder, until he can't ignore it as well as he used to.

Well, that and probably no longer pretending to be upset at their fans when they do say the quite part out loud on twitter.

It reminds me of when I was in secondary school and joined the debate team, and at a competition we encountered a debate topic that was, "This house believes democracy is the enemy of the people." And the proposition side basically went with the argument, "Most people are not sufficiently informed to make an informed decision when they vote."

I was on the opposition side, and I remember coming up with a line, "The proposition has made a strong case for why ignorance is the enemy of the people, but not democracy itself." If I recall correctly, my side was the one that won that particular debate.

And now, two and a half decades later, I see that we were both right.
