I'd be interested in Mafia 2 and Let's Build a Zoo, if you don't want them.

Y'know, I was looking at the other games listed with Doom 2016 for "special deals." It's basically a section for great games with the lowest discounts. And there's some killer games on here at 90% off.

Undertail and Spiritfarer at 90% off is crazy. Everyone should own a copy of those. The complete Walking Dead series is a heck of a bargain (I bought it with the credit I had on my account). Heavy Rain is a heavily flawed but solid enough game. Enter the Gungeon, which I didn't care for personally, but it holds an overwhelmingly positive rating. Then there's Anno 1800, a popular series I've never been interested in. Conan Exiles; which I tried and hated. Elder Scrolls Online, which I guess is a good MMO. And Call to Arms: Gates of Hell, which is a game that exists, apparently.

Still, the batting average for the ones at 90% off is pretty great if you wanted to scoop up some classics for dirt cheap.

Conan Exiles; which I tried and hated.
It's similar to Minecraft, except that resources respawn in specific locations, and 75% more of the world is trying to kill you.
It's actually more mechanically similar to Empyrion, but all on a planet's surface instead of in space.

It's not similar to Minecraft or Empyrion at all. It's not voxel-deformable, the world is not procedurally generated, and it prioritizes plot-based combat-RPG gameplay, with base-building as a secondary thing. I played it a LOT, and really liked it, at least until the guy who wrote all the mods I liked quit in a huff because he didn't like the direction funcom was taking it.

It's not voxel-deformable
Huh. And I knew that, too. I wonder why I was thinking you could? Must've been confusing it with Empyrion proper. It's been a while.
The Empyrion similarity I was alluding too is that bases are like ... well, like bases, in that they are limited to maximum x/y/z dimensions, and they are built by placing blocks "phased through" the existing terrain much like Empyrion.
The Minecraft similarity, other than the "build by placing blocks" thing is that it's very much a mine, craft, repeat to climb the tech tree-kind of game but with many more RPG-type elements added, so if you like mining & crafting and you are also willing to overlook the whole mandatory slavery thing, then you'll probably enjoy it. Cranky has been playing it on and off for years just because he really enjoys building bases in creative mode. He would probably play it more, he gets VERY frustrated when the updates break the mods he likes to use.

From that last... the standouts are probably Mafia 3, DreadOut 2, Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, and Thief Gold. Unsurprisingly, those are mostly old games on GOG.

I would have been excited about Fashion Police Squad, if it weren't on Epic. It's a funny and quirky FPS with some interesting mechanics.

Anyone hoping that Star Wars: Jedi Survivor would be one of the freebies will have to wait another year. Seems like EA hasn't given up on it yet. It is part of Prime Gaming, but only as streaming via Luna, and even then only for a 24 hour period. I don't envy anyone trying to play that game via the cloud.

If anyone wants one of my GOG or Microsoft codes, hit me up, I enjoy giving them out. (Just not posting about it.)

I already own Saints Row: Gat out of Hell on GOG. It's a crappy Saints Row game, but the gameplay mechanics are solid. The setting is mud brown highlighted with neon, the story is ridiculous nonsense with boring characters, but the guns are fun, the flight mechanic is rewarding to master, and overall it's mechanically a solid game. It's just missing most of the stuff that makes Saints Row what it is.
