Gas Bandit's Political Thread V: The Vampire Likes Bats

In other words Manchin was considered “good enough” by the democrats. Hell Biden even gave Sienema compliments as she destroyed his legacy.
Manchin sucked but there was a lot that got done under Biden that wouldn’t have if you replaced Manchin with a Republican, which is exactly what woudlve happened if they went after him (and is what happened what he retired). Manchin voted with the Dems far more often than he didn’t.

Like I said “good enough” You have a point here?

This thread explaining how the "Broligarchy" is distinct from the established oligarchy:

TL;DR Broligarchs want to destabilize the world's current governments, largely by devaluing the US dollar, so that they can create their idea of a sci-f fascist future society. One where their corporations rule over people instead of any current government, women are removed from the workforce, and the rich pay no taxes.

I have sadly started to think that abandoned cumsock there doesn't understand that Greenland is not as large as a mercator map suggests.

I'm pretty sure that the real reason TFG is fixated on Greenland is simply because Putin told him to take it, knowing it would fracture NATO and alienate the US from every single ally.
I agree. I just also think he was easy to convince because he's ignorant and has no real understanding of what Greenland actually is.

Isn’t Greenland super rich in natural resources?
I mean, any place that difficult to access is going to be rich in resources simply because of the difficulty of accessing and extracting those resources. They've just been sitting there all this time behind/under the GIANT SLAB OF ICE.

Greenland and Canada control almost all of the arctic sea that isn't controlled by Russia or the USA (through Alaska). With northern shipping routes becoming more feasible, along with his intention to take back the Panama canal and his messaging about "freeing" Suez and the Persian gulf - it's all about controlling all transportation between the Pacific and Atlantic.
Combined with the grabs for Ukrainian resources, grabbing Greenland means control over most all non-Chinese deposits of some critical resources.
It makes no sense in a world with stable coalitions and allies, but in a Risk style worldview it's not actually without some logic.
It can't possibly work, but that's another matter.

The French right is, predictably, crying foul over this perversion of democracy and so on and so forth.
But she admitted to abusing those funds for users or wasn't intended for, and her defense was pretty much "everybody does it, I'm just being persecuted for it!"
Shockingly, this doesn't work.

Dear god, Greenland. Fight with everything you got. You sure as hell don’t want to be American right now. Most of us don’t either.
Hey, adding Greenland as a state would open the door for PR and a bunch of other territories considered too small to become separate states too (Greenland had about 60K people). Let's get 50 extra democratic states and the Senate might start working again!

And yet it's a pretty convincing argument for a lot of people in ex-communist countries...
