Today I recieved a pay check I had forgotten about. Time to re-stock the refrigerator!

I just got a check from the court for $180 or so. As best as I can figure out, one of the guys who mugged me years ago must have finally paid a portion of the restitution.
Not sure what I'm going to do with it, though. Maybe install a security system in case they blame me for getting caught...

First truly cool day here since the beginning of April. 61 and drizzling at noon. After a summer that had probably 30 days in a row over 100, this is a nice break.
And because it is Fall, cool, and lunch time... I had my first cup of Chili of the Fall.

Beautiful crystal clear morning, bright blue sky with dappled clouds here and there, trees just starting to change, and the perfect temperature.
Pretty soon we'll be dipping into hayride, cider and donut weather, with beautiful golds, yellows, and oranges lining our streets.
Gotta love Michigan.

Fall is easily my favorite season, and probably the one time I don't loathe Michigan. It's actually gotten a lot better living closer to the thumb. Everything in West Michigan is tainted by the giant cloud Lake Michigan provides around ten months out of the year. Over here I frequently walk out of my house and just stand in amazement at the blue sky above me.

I can picture chili powder, cinnamon and powered sugar on a funnel cake. But not stewed meat chili...
