Find a local shop, tell em to give you a 1/2 inch cut if you're heavy set weight wise or a 1/4 if you're lighter and you'll never be without skates again. Sharpen them after about every 10-14 2hour skates you go on.

It's not the feet. Nearly every guy I dated wore an 11 or 11.5, including my husband. They were not all the same size elsewhere. I think it's in the hands, more specifically the size of the fingers. Big ring size, big wang.

I just measured my wedding band. It's just a little over 7/8's on the inner diameter. I do have monster hands now that I think about it.

I'm told that from tip of thumb to tip of pinkie when making this sign is a good indicator. It works for me.

Either *really* stretch up thumb to the tip of your index, or thumb to pinky but not too stretched out. Both equal 18,5 cm for me, which does sort of correspond :-P

Thumb to pinky? No measuring tape right now. I'd say about 21 centimeters give or take a few.

Word. I wear 14s too. I pretty much gave up wearing shoes that fit properly when I was 13. I can squeeze into dress shoes that are 13s since the socks are thin and I'm not going to be running around. At least, I shouldn't be running around. And if I am then I have bigger things to worry about.
People always tell me to go to an outlet store. They tell me, "They have sizes up to 22 there!" Sure, in football cleats and basketball shoes. But in big boy grown up shoes they don't have anything. And yeah you can go to big and tall, but usually those are dress shoes or loafers.
Right now I'm in 13s from Merrels shoes. They have an extra wide toe box which is ok for work (again, I'm sitting most of the day so they aren't that uncomfortable with the years of practice I have)
So....What more do you need? Dress shoes, sports wear, and comfortable stuff. Ok, nothing there that's great for hiking, perhaps, or heavy work on a construction site, but otherwise, that seems OK?
