Nice Pete's just like that... fucking insane. I'm sure that Gusto, Allen, or Juski could provide some good example strips. Me, I'm too lazy and haven't been reading as long.

Just take our word for it. Or look for a strip called "Nice Pete" which is his first appearance. It's immediately apparent the man is unbalanced if not outright fucking insane.

Dave, you have made me sad by how wrong you are being right now. Not a light sad either. A deep down "I just remembered the moment that my childhood died" kind of sad.

In fact, this...this might be the saddest thing ever.

I have to side with Dave on this one. I read it every time it is posted, including the ones that are people's favorites. They just don't strike any chords for me. Neither does The Office, though, so take that however y'all like.

Honestly, I did the same thing for the longest time. I finally read the archives, and I bet I got twenty or thirty in before something clicked. They're not all funny, but once I started getting into it I found enough were funny to make it worth my time. Even when they're not funny, I find them interesting, which beats some of the other comics I follow.

Achewood as a high gain of entry and even when you make it, it still might not appeal to you. I'm not about to call it the second coming or anything like that, there's just something about it that resonates with me most of the time.

Crotch chops. :heh:

First time i tried to read achewood, it didn't really do anything for me.

couple of years later, i read the great outdoor fight storyline, and i've been reading every damn update ever since.

THE JEEPS.

And now some classic Sheldon, somewhat relevant due to recent forum arguments and the triumphant return of Futurama:

Since Allen's already moving in that direction, MY TOP FIVE ACHEWOOD STRIPS:

Note: The following strips might not make sense out of context but are still goddamned hilarious.

Alright.

They are ALL Roast Beef strips, and the top three are all from the Great Outdoor Fight arc.

#5: Notorious L.I.N.C.O.L.N.

#4: Roasted-up Ding Dong

#3: Beef in the Fight

#2: Roast Beef and Mrs. Smuckles

#1: Summons to Turkey

Since I was only asking because I wanted to share my Deck of Many Things story :):

We found the Deck of Many Things in some ruins on some other plane. We played around with it a bit, all of us winning and losing some. One person would have had to fight the wraith, but they had the Get Out of Jail Free Card, so it was fine.

Then we decided to set up a stand outside of a town, and sent the bard to advertise to the townsfolk. They could draw as many cards as they liked for free. If anyone died, no skin off our bones. If anyone got experience and leveled up, we hired them as cohorts. If anyone got fabulous treasures, some bandits who were led by the bard would rob them blind and we'd get the riches.

The most memorable one was the peasant who got the the Answer to Any One Dilemma. He asked if he should grow cabbages or rutabagas this year. He was told to grow cabbages.

Once this wrapped up, we fought a few angels. Something happened to lead to this large explosion of divine power. This divine power turns out to be a potent combination of cabbage viagra and cabbage aphrodisiac, causing the cabbages to grow and seed the country side extremely quickly.

The peasant saw this and said, "YES! MY CABBAGES!"
