Police arrested (Suspect), 23, after he allegedly robbed the Bank, about 4:20 p.m. Monday.
(Suspect) displayed no weapon when he stepped up to the counter and passed a note to a bank clerk that read, \"give me the money or I will shoot,\" police said.
The teller passed over at least $4,000 — all in $20 bills — and he took off in a lowrider, pewter Dodge pickup truck with custom wheels.
A police patrolman spotted (Suspect’s) truck about six hours later, court documents state. The officer pulled over (Suspect) and arrested him after matching his face with security camera footage given to police.
Officers also found more than four grams of cocaine in the truck that (Suspect) later told investigators he bought with some of the bank’s cash, police said.
(Suspect) gave police a written confession and led them to his residence, where about $4,000 in $20 bills was found. Police also recovered the note and several electronic items he purchased with cash Monday night from an area Wal-Mart.
\"Economic gain — that is all his motivation was in this,\" Police Chief said. \"He has cooperated with the investigation thus far.\"
At an arraignment Tuesday afternoon, (Suspect) winced after Municipal Judge set his bond at $280,000 on charges of robbery and possession of a controlled substance.
Both charges are second-degree felonies punishable by up to 20 years in prison and a possible fine of up to $10,000 upon conviction.
(Suspect) had one misdemeanor drug possession and other minor offenses on his criminal record.
(Suspect) was set to be taken to the County Jail late Tuesday afternoon.
