Jolly Rover got reemed out by Gamespot. Not even a 4/10.

This Sunday (Sept. 19) is Talk Like a Pirate Day. And you be bettin' Telltale's a-gonna treat ya right, me hearty.

Starting now, until Monday morning, Tales of Monkey Island is only $4.95. And, if you want to pay the shipping & handling, you'll also get the full DVD of it, as well.

Now, if you'll excuse me. I have some Tales of Monkey Island to play.

Oop, yeah, I couldn't find a direct link, aside from the main Telltale link. And I just realized you'd mentioned it a few posts back. My bad. But a deal this good's gotta be mentioned a few times, aye?

Oh, yeah. I had been planning to throw up a link to it when the deal went live anyway. If I didn't already own the game (with the special edition DVD, and a mug to boot) I'd be snapping it up. $5 is a steal for a damn good game.

EDIT: Here's me mugging for the camera, just to make Nick jealous. Let's see if he notices.

New set of $6 games from D2D
Europa Universalis III: Heir to the Throne
Red Faction Guerrilla
Warfare
Dracula Origin
Gratuitous Space Battles
7 Sins
A Farewell to Dragons
City Life 2008
Sword of the Stars

Not sure how many of those are good, most I've never heard of. Red Faction Guerrilla, though, is awesome and well worth $6.

The daily deals from D2D's Summer Ends Event are
Borderlands $10 (keep in mind this doesn't have the DLC, a GOTY edition is coming out soon that will.)
Football Manager 2010 $10

I believe Sword of the Stars is decent, or so I'm told. 7 Sins is basically a more adult themed version of the Sims and it's pretty awful.

I think Gratuitous Space Battles is fun, but I wouldn't pay more than $5-$6 for it. So if you're interested in creating space ships of all sizes and watching them blow up rival space fleets then it's a great buy.

Today's D2D deals are:
STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl and Call of Pripyat $10
Split Second $20

Bah! The least they could do is have something I care about on my birthday! (I've heard the Stalker games are decent, though I'm not sure if the bugginess ever got fixed).

Oh! Someone does have good stuff for my B-day! GOG.com has Planescape Torment. It's not on sale, but for $10 you get the soundtrack too! (among other stuff). Yeah, I'll probably be picking this one up. I lent my copy of PS:T to a friend, years ago, and never got it back. Heck, I may not even play it again (I've gone through the game 3 times.) but the soundtrack would be nice.

GamersGate is doing a week of sales on puzzle games. Notables:
Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords $5
Flock $5
Puzzle Bots $6

C

Chibibar

Team Fortress 2 is $10 and just got a major update.

Also, everything Magic the Gathering related is on sale on Steam. I didn't even realize there was a virtual version of the game.
Magic the Gathering is kinda fun, but you can't customize like the actual virtual game
What's Happening? : Magic Online : Digital Games : Magic: The Gathering

but, it is pretty fun to play with limit customizable deck instead of paying for virtual decks (you can trade in for actual cards too)

O

Overflight

Civilization Revolution for the iOS also seems to be on sale in some countries. In case you want to waste even MORE of your precious time, it's at 0.79 Euros/0.99 Dollars for one week.

GOG.com has Community Favorites on sale:
Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura $3
Duke Nukem 3D : Atomic Edition $3
Incredible Machine Mega Pack, The $5
Interstate ’76 Arsenal, The $3
Jagged Alliance 2 $5
Longest Journey, The $5
Myst: Masterpiece Edition $3
Psychonauts $5
Syberia $5
Tex Murphy: Under a Killing Moon $5

Some really great games there. Psychonauts is a decent platformer with awesome style. The Longest Journey is a great adventure game. I've heard good things about Syberia, but haven't done more than start it myself.

I went through Syberia (XBox, but still). It was a really well done adventure game, with pretty good voice work, beautiful graphics and an interesting plot. I never did get to play part 2, which I also have.

7. Painkiller Black Edition

Goddamn! I'll buy Left 4 Dead for $7!

Now, I'll just take a quick gander over at Can You Run It to see if my laptop has the specs to handle it.

...

Well, it doesn't even reach the bar for minimum requirements.

*sob*
