It's the same thing they do with movies... they took the original recordings and digitally enhanced them to take advantage of modern technology, in order to bring out a truer version of the recordings. This means that the music is clearer and you can pick up some things you might not have noticed on previous releases of the music (I'm told a certain "Ah fuck" is more audible now than ever).

if i can find the mono set i'll probably pick up a copy, otherwise i'll pass. everything i've read has said this is only a remaster not a remix and i hate the current stereo mix on some of the beatles cds.

Beatles? I only like their later stuff, as I don't like Boy bands, however I'd take a George Harrison's and John Lennon's solo work any day over the Beatles.

This is why I include music in the list of socially unacceptable things to talk about like religion or politics, cause someone is always going to get offended, plus I never cared for people calling the bands/artists I might enjoy stupid/lame/sellouts just cause they themselves don't care for that music.

I've grown to respect the Beatles over the years (used to really dislike a lot of their music as a kid due to it getting overplayed - especially the big ones like Hey Jude) but they're still not really for me.

I think a lot of it stems from the fact that I really don't really like Paul McCarthy's voice that much. Most of the time, his voice sounds too sad and it just lacks that vibrance that I like in voices.

Having said that, I do ironically love Live & Let Die and as a child I was crazy about We All Stand Together.

Music is an awesome thing to talk to other people about! I'd just hope if you're talking to me you'd at least something about it. Sometimes people are just dumb though. For instance, my roomate overheard a great conversation where some guy was proclaiming to some girl that Brand New is awesome in concert because it sounds exactly like on the album!
