I'm not automatically in favor of legalization efforts, from a political standpoint. Meaning, it isn't always the right time to put forth legislation to legalize; if the climate's wrong, it can just backfire and make things worse. Also, I'm leery of anything coming out of Oaksterdam.

I'd vote for the initiative if it showed up on the ballot, but given the current uproar over medical marijuana and the problems with dispensaries, I don't think this is going to go well. I'd be thrilled to be proven wrong of course.

Maybe it's just San Diegans? Didn't really go outside the city during the whole thing. But yes, everyone that I could find that was against it either had reasons along those lines, or were simply against it for religious purposes. Even after reciting the proposition to dozens of people verbatim, they still didn't understand that it would ban gay marriages completely.
