Heroes Season 4. Has anyone here *not* stopped watching this?

There's gotta be at least a few people in here who know that:
some of Sylar's mind thinks that he's Nathan, while the rest is stuck inside Matt's mind, like a contagion transmitted during his "operation"; Claire is in college now with a roommate that now knows about her power; Noah is learning some compassion; there is a minor character who seems to have some kind of prophetic ability through tattoos?; and Hiro is slowly dying and can't currently control his powers.

I know a lot of you don't watch it anymore, but until it drops to the story quality of Naruto filler... I've been watching too long to stop now. I still like it, just not as much as in the first season. It's still better than a lot of other stuff on TV, and it's on Hulu. (I don't have a digital TV tuner yet, so.)

I'd be watching it, but they made the grievous mistake of running it against House M.D. If it where still Chuck in the 8pm timeslot, I'd have trouble choosing... but it's Heroes, and while I enjoy Heroes, I LOVE House M.D. So I'll basically be watching Heroes on Hulu.

Whoa! There's a TV show featuring people with superpowers in it?! Hot digity, there's no way that could screw up!

*Watches first season* THAT WAS TOTALLY WICKED! What happens next? Did Sylar live? What happens to Hiro? MOAR!

*watches second season* Huh...well, that was a lot more hit and miss. And anti-climactic, but I blame the strike. And Sylar was useless here. At least Hiro's story was interesting. And Adam looks like a great future villain; ditto for Matt's dad. Wonder what happens next? Oh, shit! Sylar's got his powers back? OH SHI---

*starts watching third season* Okay, what the fuck is this shit? Where did this great show go? Why are they killing off all these great characters who have nothing but unlimited potential? Why do they keep going back to the future over and over again, with the stupid paintings and everything? Christ, it was cool in the first season because it was original, but now it's just overplayed. There's so many other staples of superhero mythology to pick from than this, guys! Screw it, I'm done. I'm not going back.

I watch it because I like it better than anything else in its time slot (I can get the CBS shows later), and it's one of the best-looking HD shows.

I stopped watching way back in the first season because I was tired of the too-many plotlines leaving every scene too short and every episode too splintered. I picked it up again at the tail end of Season 3, but as that elicited nothing more than a "meh" I'm done with it.

The show is called Heroes but the only person who ever seems to do anything is the villain . . . they killed off in Season 1. What the fuck is wrong with the writers?

I think being a Heroes fan is kind of like being a Red Sox fan. You keep up with it, even though most of the time it's crap, and yet sometimes, you're rewarded with some good stuff. Unfortunately, there's a LOT of crap to go through.

Ironically, I haven't caught up with the show

I saw the S4 Premiere then last weeks episode was pre-empted by sports here locally on NBC.. As much as I'd love to nerd rage on another network taking a shit on a show because of sports, I'm guessing I didnt miss much.

I'm hoping they give us SOMETHING this season. Some kind of good fights or a big battle, after last seasons complete bullshit behind-closed-doors crap..yea...

I'll give it till the seasons end, then I'm out for good. Nothing will re capture the magic of season 1 but we can hope..we can hope..

Ok, just watched the season premiere... It's actually a pretty good start for the season. Still need to watch episode 2 (and 3 later this week) but it doesn't look like it's going in a bad direction.

Don't do it Ash. They will just sucker you in with a few good moments than BAM! back to suckville!

This show was set up to be a one or two season show. The network doesn't have the FX budget to develop the characters beyond that. So if they try to do it, they are just going to ruin it. Which they did.

Lost fell into the same trap. It was a 2-3 season show at the max. They tried to stretch it longer, and it only got good again when they decided to end it.

Heroes could be good if they had a full character refresh every year or two, but they won't, so it will suck.

Anyone figured out what the fuck Hiro is doing?

3 seasons of "WE CANT CHANGE TIME, IT WILL FUCK US ALL OVER!!!" to "Ok, a small change here can't hurt.."

....

It's ether to show his maturity as a human being, where he's beginning to understand that changing history is a risk, but it won't always turn out bad... or it's just the writers making him dumber so he can be used by the Carnie folks.

I was totally gonna stop watching it, but then one of my friends mentioned the new season and how i should watch it, and i had nothing else do do... the bastard pulled me back in... :pout:

It was a royally stupid idea to let it go against House. That's the death-knell. I saw the premiere, but nothing else. It hasn't been appealing enough to Hulu.

It's sucksville, but I have watched every episode on Hulu. If it wasn't on Hulu, I wouldn't bother. Actually, all my tv watching is done on hulu.

Basically this. I'm hoping they get a fucking clue and move it back to 9 where it was at least a moderate success. It's got to be drowning at 8.

great, its Onslaught all over again

I still watch it. It's not what I'd like it to be but it's not as bad as some of the crap out there. I know I stole part of another poster's post, but it summed up my thoughts well.

Grrr. I missed last night's episode and went to watch it on NBC's site. Their interface is worse than ever. I could not figure out how to get their higher quality video working. In protest I am aquiring the episode through other means.

I just saw the 2nd and 3rd. As much as I hate contradicting myself, this season actually has picked up a little compared to the last. I don't particularly like the carnie guy. He's sort of ho-hum. I've always hated Claire, and unfortunately, these episodes have been Claire-heavy.

Aside from the show being a blatant rip off of the X-Men, the characters all suffer serious xmenitis, a disease characterized by constantly whining about fantastic superpowers instead of enjoying them.

To be fair to the xmen, they do get rocks thrown at them when they go out... and they wear some uncomfortable looking gear too.

Well, its picking up some.

The shit with Claire is still boring, but the girl girl kiss was hot.

Thank god they aren't stretching Sylar/Nathan all season long. I'm hoping once he gets his memory back, he's loyal to the carnies and helps them.

What the fuck is Peter's power? Is he still stuck on absorbing one power at a time or is he back to Ranged Rogue again? I like he isn't Emo Peter anymore, but some clarification would be nice.

So far decent, better than season 3 thus far.

I don't know if I'm alone in this belief, but I feel Sylar should have just been killed off properly at the end of Season 1. The character has been so wishy-washy ever since that it feels like the writers are struggling to find things to do with him.

Claire's outlived her usefulness, too. Though, I read that it was the actress' idea to do a lesbian relationship for her character and the writers just went with it.

Plus, I really want to see just ONE character that dresses up in a gaudy costume and goes on patrol and such. Because really, of all the people getting powers, SOMEONE in the world would do that. Hell, I know I would. Come to think of it, I think that'd be a great role for Hiro. Better than anything they've done with him, lately.

I agree, so much. Sylar surviving past season one was one of the worst things done to Heroes.

Dude the only thing Heroes is only 'still' interesting is because of Sylar if they didnt have him it would probably suck.

And that fight between them at the end of season two was total bullshit

You mean Season 3?

Season 2 ended with Hiro/Nathan/Matt trying to stop Peter/Kenzo from releasing the virus, Sylar was mostly running around trying to get his powers back, then took a junkie-like hit of the Shanti Cure in the alley way at the end when Elle let him get away.

Season 3 ended in the shitacular behind-closed-doors 2vs1 fight..

Which, and I'm not trying to cut them slack, but that fight would have sucked. Nathan can only fly, Peter was 1 Power Wonder at the time, so he started the fight with Nathans flying too, his choosing a single power to fight with would have been retarded, with no healing factor, he's dead meat, just like Nathan was a sitting duck for Sylar.

Or, Heroes would be better on the whole without the distraction of Sylar and the writers could have gone much better places instead of wearing down every other potential character and plotline with the grating annoyance of an over-powered villain.

Totally agree that Syler should have left the show after season 1.

So far I´m liking season 4 better then I did season 3, on the whole I find that some characters are less annoying this season then in the previous one. Hopefully the writers will try and avoid having Claire completely revert to her "angsty" persona of season 3, she was singlehandedly ruining the show in season 3 imo.
