Heroes Season 4. Has anyone here *not* stopped watching this?

I don't mind where they steal from either - comic book companies have been stealing from each other for years, why can't a TV show?

And, I completely agree with the groups thing. Considering how many people seem to pop up with powers every few episodes, it seems like there'd be SOME group of people out there who would "team up".

I wish everyone would shut up about "not being able to live their lives". Especially Claire. What is so different about her? She's basically normal as long as she's not injured. Which you know happens publicly to everyone on a daily basis, right? Their trying to do the X-Men discrimination thing, but it's falling apart. The reason it worked in X-Men was that people openly knew about muties.

Well, when Claire was loosing her ability to feel pain, and thought she'd stop being able to feel anything at all, it made sense for her to worry about her power. With that crisis over, it's not her power causing troubles, it's other people with powers trying to screw with her that's the issue. Maybe in 40 years or so, when everyone around her is starting to wrinkle and gray, and she still looks twenty-something, then she can start agonizing about her power again.

You're right about the discrimination thing. Especially since I'm not sure we've seen a single person on heroes who can't hide their power as long as they can learn to control it (Except the self-mutated Mohinder, I just remembered). None of them look like a freak. No one has wings, fur, scales, cat eyes or anything else that would make it hard for them to blend-in. The whole fear of discovery hinges on one thing, controlling powers, and that shtick is already getting old.

Yeah, for some reason it's easy to hide their powers, and yet there seems to be an infinite supply of people who know about everyone that has a power.

I think that's because for every power you possess your IQ goes down 4 points.

Peter was damn near Forrest Gump at the end of the first season.

I just can't seem to put this series down. Though this season has been better, the afore mentioned hiding of powers irks me and thus Claire and the lack of asskicking so far. It is a nice buildup, but I hope it won't end with another closed door scene..

Just like my boycott of EA games, I'm done with Heroes cause NBC are assholes who got rid of Conan.

I'll miss Hiro, Charlie, Sylar and the gang. Was a good 4 years.

Yes, Samuel is just a whiny annoying tool. Give us a badass like Magneto! I don't want to sympathize or empathize with the dude. I want to despise him and fear him. Ugh.

Me, I like my antagonists/protagonists/main characters complicated and unconventional at times. I actually like Samuel just as much as I do Sylar (but for different reasons). Each to their own, though.

Besides, it's not as if there's many other shows with superhuman characters out there right now, right? It's filling a void, and doing not a bad job of it right now, IMO.

I like when villains cause me to both sympathize and fear them, my favorite is Mr.Freeze.

Magneto is less sympathetic, but I do feel a bit of empathy to him. =P

But I don't find Samuel complicated at all. He's a man-child.

Also, speaking of Genosha, didn't that already happen in like season 2 when they were flying the specials out somewhere?

I hate the term "ability". I just sounds like they are trying to carefully avoid the word "power".

Well... looks like Samuel just became a legitimate, full on villain. Too bad he basically acted like a high schooler when he did it.

He leveled an entire town when the girl he's been pinning over rejected him.

I agree on both of these, but what is there to empathize with Samuel about? He isn't being persecuted, his wife wasn't killed, etc. Same with Sylar.
I wouldn't mind seeing Hiro going rogue b/c Samuel's actions end up killing her. I could empathize with that.

BTW, Mr. Freeze from the animated series is by far one of my favorite villains!

Easy. One can empathize with Samuel because he was turned down by the only woman he ever really had feelings for. Even after he showed her the fantasy home he built. I also get the feeling he had her in mind when he had the plant guy make the oasis.

It's not exactly a "suck it up and move on" sort of situation, IMO. She was one of the few things he really cared about, aside from "the family".

He was pretty obsessive though. Dude was a creeper.

But I felt sorry for the creeper... at least until he went and destroyed the town. Then I was just like "okay sweet he's a real supervillain now".

Sorry, I misread your post and thoughed that you DON'T want a villain like magneto.

Of course, BTAS Mr.Freeze is The Mr.Freeze, accept no substitutes.

Stopped in season three, the part where its all Mutant act and they are shoved into a plane.

I was half-expecting Sylar to take over a genetic testing lab island and call it Genosha.

Speaking of which, I'm currently in the process of... purchasing the series. I haven't seen it since I was a kid, so I don't remember it very well besides the opening theme and that it was just awesome in general. The purchase is about 80% complete. I'm looking forward to watching it again when this transaction has finished...

Man, I think I am going to quit this show. It's getting worse and worse. The court room crap is just the lamest stuff ever. Emo-sylar. I'm done. If they bring in J.M.S. to write, I'll come back.

I get why Samuel did what he did, that woman was basically his last excuse to even continue trying to live with humans. Still mega lame for him to throw a tantrum and destroy a town, but hey, at least he's an actual villain now?

The whole court scene was kinda lame and very predictable, but Emolar takes the cake really.

Y

YAOMTC

I personally thought the "court" scene was hilarious. I couldn't take it seriously at all with Hiro's dead father banging his grated cheese "gavel".

L

Lumax

Personally, the quoting Quantum Leap and then getting called on it totally made it work for me.

Screw that, bring in JMS to actually do a Rising Stars TV show, which Heroes half ripped-off for there first season.

I'd still like to actually see some, you know, superpowers.

I freakin' hate Claire. Did I mention that? Geez quit your bitching about not being normal when for all intents and purposes you are.

The cheerleader girl? I've only seen seasons 1 and 2, but I can't understand how she got that part. I think she's pretty awful. She's my least favorite actress on the show.

It's the massive plastic forehead.

Either that or they wanted a character the audience would want to see jump off a scaffolding repeatedly.

Thread necronomicon aside- Anybody else watch the wall? I like were its going.

Sylar is a good guy again but in a way that makes sense. Hiro tells him he's going to die alone which sits in his psyche until it disturbs him to the point were he can no longer kill people, then he spends twelve (my guess) years inisde of a nightmare alone with peter.

You know what? This season would of made for a good second season. The writers have to fight an uphill battle with this one, and that detracts from it some what. But if it had started at the top of the hill, it probably would have been pretty acceptable.
