torrentleech. best place, period.
It's not bad if you're just looking for a basic 0day tracker. I'd hardly call it the greatest tracker ever though.
Speeds, reliability, and instant 0-days? For online tracker, pretty much best I have used, and will continue to do so. When even the worst things I get there ar 500k minimum dl, and the usual is on average 1 mb or better...yeah, I like it. between that for movies and games and all new releases, and demonoid for music/comics/audiobooks, I never needed to use anything else

Damend demonoid going down right now.

The only thing I got out of this thread is that DoomDragon likes isohunt.
This thread also had some great new ways to torrent media that I hadn't heard of before! I learned a lot about how to acquire things illegally.
Glad we could help you. Next time try Google though, probably much better information than a group of people discussing internet things on the internet.

You can also get legal stuff and stuff that you normally couldn't get, though, which is why this thread still has value.

For example, the Red Dwarf Return to Earth is not available in the US and getting it from the UK wouldn't probably play due to the Region restrictions. So I used a torrent to get it. When it comes available in the US I will buy it because even though I watched it I don't have the DVD or any potential DVD extras. If I did buy the DVD from the UK I'd have to break the law to watch it anyway as I'd have to use a program to strip protection from it and make a copy.

Yes, torrents are mostly used to do illegal stuff, but that's not all there is.

Well, Charlie does like to find things to complain about with threads.

I expect this to be reported by him.

 I honestly didn't know where the line was about the torrenting thing here. I'm not trying to be snarky or anything! I thought mentioning the names/websites of different things was akin to instructions. But if ya'll don't think it is, that's cool!

If it was all illegal then maybe it would be. It's not and it's a real stretch to say that the mention of torrent sites and instructing how to illegally download material is the same thing.

Talking about robbery is not the same as giving instructions about robbing someone. Just naming the sites doesn't mean that we condone illegal activity. Take it like major news sources. They talk about sites like PirateBay but done give links to specific torrents. We're the same way. Talk about torrenting & the sites all day, but if you link a specific torrent that is bad.

Now, CDS, if someone were to give illicit instructions on where to get a crack for a game or somesuch, that would be violating the rules. Just talking about the websites themselves isn't.

Like I said, it's not bad at all. Certainly much, much better than any public tracker. It's a good 0day tracker, but good 0day trackers are a dime a dozen. Trackers which aim to build a more permanent library are generally better IMO, but if you only ever need new releases, a decent 0day tracker is good enough.

yeah lol that is how i found it.

maybe it has something to do with canada's policy on peer to peer sharing as opposed to the usa's.

Meh, in my experience private trackers take while for ratio if the stuff you're getting isn't brand new or very popular...

The exact opposite is true... less popular torrents have fewer seeders, and so you get more upload for each snatch. The torrents I've got the most upload on are the more obscure ones. Hell, the torrent I've got the most upload on is Postman Pat Season 1 (the original 1981 series that is, not the new one).

Of course i use local trackers, and they go to 10mbps easily... but it never uploads at that speed, and older torrents are usually not d/l anymore, exceot by foreigners, and the speed is slow. eztv on the other hands work at 500kbps-1mbps and i usually have a ratio over 1 even before it's finished...

There are plenty of ways to listen to music at home for free (I use Spotify) and plenty of ways to get that content into mp3 format for use on portable devices. Not sure what paying for Pirate Bay gets you?

uhh.. stuff that isn't MP3s?

ah I see, my response was based on this post ˇ so I may have missed some of the subtlety of the enquiry.

Isn't paying to torrent kind of... defeating the purpose?
*shrug* It's what people said about Napster/Itunes. (Granted I don't pay for either of those since it's really easy to get mp3s and they don't take long) Torrents on the other hand can take days, and I'd be lying if I said the idea of "monitored" and "protected" torrents didn't appeal to me....
