I can't see that happening.wow, just wow!
can't wait till the next one
my theory (half assed) is that he really is going to die or turn evil and the other doctor, the doctor spin-off, is going to take his place. Maybe, I don't know just a thought.
Season 31 (or Series 5) starts spring 2010I am quite possibly more excited for the new Dr. Who then for Christmas itself....
Any news on when the 11th doctor serials start?
Also anyone have any thoughts on the 13 reincarnations thing? The Master got around it somehow and I'm sure they'll find something just interested on how the writers will finagle it if it ever comes up.
I got into Doctor Who when they started airing the new series on Sci-fi, Always watched it on TV with a friend of mine. I don't mind waiting since the show is always worth it.Why would you wait until then?
... And why would you open a thread called "Waters of Mars" if you're a Doctor Who fan who is plannning on waiting for whatever reason?
You are gonna be in for a long wait.Any news on when the 11th doctor serials start?
Really enjoyed this episode, and I'm always willing to suspend my disbelief for the Doctor, but one thing puzzled me:
Why didn't the Doctor just evacuate the crew to another planet or time? Take them somewhere and help them get new identities. Doctor saves their lives, History still considers them dead, win-win. The whole Mars base was destroyed by an explosion, it's not like their remains need to be there.
Timey wimey wibbledly wobbly stuff prevents that.Really enjoyed this episode, and I'm always willing to suspend my disbelief for the Doctor, but one thing puzzled me:

In this instance, the death of the captain was the fixed point in time. She would have died no matter what he did. The point was that he thought that he beat time, but in the end, things progressed as they should have. Yes, he has been clear in the past that he mucks about with time all the time, but never with fixed points in time. In pompei, he was unable to stop it. He was unable to alter the fixed point in time.
Part of the snap was to show that he was wrong to think that he could alter the fixed point in time. In the past he had always been pretty clear that a fixed point in time can't be changed completely. Again, it was the death of the captain, not the destruction of the Mars base that was the fixed point in time.
Setup for the next episode. Why the fading ood at the end, though?
