Scrubs Season 9

So it's not as bad as I thought. In fact, I enjoyed the first episode. The new interns are funny enough so far, though a bit cliched I suppose.

I wanted to turn it off after 5 minutes, then DID turn it off at the next commercial break. Although a couple friends said it wasn't that bad/got better, so I might try to watch it on Hulu.

I thought it was worth the 30 minutes all in all. I'll give it a few more episodes, see where it goes from here.

Only thing that bothers me is it really feels like it nullifies the "this is how it could be" segment at the end of season 8 with JD and everyone's future since it shows Elliot married to JD and pregnant.

ABC didn't let Bill Lawrence change the name to "Scrubs Med". It's a spin-off in everything but name, really.

I enjoyed it more than I thought I would, the second episode was maybe a bit better than the first... but JD is there for only 6 episodes, so we'll talk on episode 7.

Also.. why does the new intro feature JD prominently when he's not even going to be a regular?

So far I like all the new characters except for the new female lead. I'll give her a few more episodes to develop though.

I wish some of the other interns from the last season had come back as well.

I'm digging it so far. Biggest pill to swallow was the "tore it down and moved it to a campus" thing. If I can wrap my head around that, I'll keep watching.

I'm willing to see where things go. I don't dislike the female lead, but everyone else is awesome. Also, I'm interested to see how things pan out when JD moves on.

I don't like the female lead.
I thought this at first about JD back in season 1, so I'm hoping she'll grow into something better in the next few episodes. Right now she's just a shallow perky character and that's a bit boring, imo.

Also the title did say Scrubs Med School, but it might not be the official title of the show, I suppose.

Never knew about this until now, just started watching what looks like the first episode.

My only thought is that this reminds me entirely of the Are You Being Served? sequel where the cast is running an inn or something like that through some horribly contrived circumstances.

I don't like it as much as the original Scrubs. No Carla, No Janitor, Ted's gone now as well, just not the same show.

I, too, am not fond of New J.D. Also, I don't really like the T.A., whom I have dubbed "Anti-J.D." I do still love me some Dr. Cox and there has been a lot of him, so it is still entertaining, but I may not buy the dvds when they come out.

I think it's getting better. I'll have to judge again once JD and Turk start moving aside to make way for the new set of interns. I do, however, absolutely loathe the rich kid intern. He's not even funny to me, I feel like I spend more time rolling my eyes when he talks that anything else.

I think the new female lead has good potential. Lots of room to grow and develop just needs to find some quirky humor that all the old characters had.
I really like number 1 for some reason and hope they keep him as a prominent character. So fingers crossed for how this season turns out.

That one guy plays a very convincing douchebag. I'm watching only to see him get punched. You win again, TV.

Aw, turns out he has a soul.

It hasn't been as bad as I thought, but I have my issues with it. I also don't like the female lead. But then, I outright hated JD by the end of second season and I still loved the show as a whole.

Denise was my favourite intern from season 9 BY FAR, so I'm super glad she's back. Dr. Cox remains as funny as ever as well. But these security guys are certainly no Janitor. I hope they can round out the cast with some more strong leads and in classic Scrubs style, get some fantastic ringers. I think the brilliance of characters like Jordan, Ted, the Todd, and Janitor came from the fact that they were never intended to be recurring characters, they were just really funny. Here though it seems like they're intentionally trying to throw in funny side characters, and so these characters are just instantly annoying instead. (I refer here to Cole and the two security guards)

Like I said though, better than I thought it would be. And I agree with Calleja, we'll see where it goes after Zach Braff leaves and this show needs to find someone else to keep it afloat.

Yea, the two security guys seem like the writers thought, "Oh no, we won't have the Janitor! Quick, we must get a goofy non-doctor on the show, stat! In fact, make it two!"

Still, I'm also liking the show more than I thought. I wish there was less JD, they need to start transitioning, see if they actually have a show without him.

For the last few seasons, JD actually started to grate on me, so I'm welcoming the change. I'm viewing the ex-con guy as the new main character.

Also, I'm so glad that they kept the mean girl intern on the show, she was the best part of last season.

I will give the writers their due: This is not the same Scrubs as the last 8 seasons, but it is entertaining television. I have even come to like Cole.

"Seriously big D, If I fail out of here, I gotta go to med school in the Caribbean. Dude, I don't speak Caribbesian!"

I can't quite put my finger on it, but I've continued watching it. It's nowhere near as good as earlier seasons of Scrubs, but I'm still enjoying it.

This is pretty much how I see it. As the series has progressed they've managed to make the new kids kind of likable. Elliot's pregnant-crazy is pretty funny too.

I grew to enjoy it as well. It wasn't the same level, but if I caught it on, I'd watch it. I'll probably wind up getting the DVD later on as well.
