PvP - Jade's Gone Frumpy

I know, I know, we never speak of the work of Kurt the Tastemaker, but I thought I'd just voice an opinion.

I just took a look of last week's worth of PvP comics, and I noticed something terrible: Jade Sienna (née Fontaine) has turned from a professional and sexy office fox into a frumpy lady with bags under her eyes - and she's gone hella whiny too. Just read the last 10 or so comics and you'll see. I mean, she looks like she has leukemia or something...

Hmm, I dunno... I still think Jade's hot.

Maybe that dark top's just not flattering. Put her in something brighter, and more youthful-looking, and it'll probably make a difference.

Well okay, that top's not doing her any favours, but look at her. Her ponytail's hanging limply, and I swear she looks like she has bags under her eyes.

I hope this isn't a set-up for a pregnancy story or something. 'cause a pregnant glow that ain't.

Kurtz designed his characters to look good in black and white, and they did.

Now that he's colouring all the time, they don't look the same as they used to. I think Cole looks better in colour but it's not very flattering to Jade.

Them's the breaks I guess.

The way he extends chins at a side angle bothers me, too. It makes females look manly. He's definitely putting the wrinkle/bag lines under Jade's eyes, but I'm not seeing "frumpy" anywhere. I think it just comes with the loose sort of lines he uses now, as opposed to the thick, small ones he used to use.

I thought it was part of the arc starting with Brent saying she looked like her mom.

Also, "The fury of the Shire" made me laugh on a day when I thought nothing would. Kurtz done brought the funny.

P.S. Because we don't know where our beloved Shegs went: *waves* Hi Scott!

I've enjoyed this arc too, actually, but her chin still bothers me. Like someone else said, it's mannish. Although that kind of worked for this arc I guess. I kinda miss the black and white drawings. Comics.com is colorized now too, and I have to read arlo and janis in color... which bugs me for some reason. I don't know... I prefer black and white comics I suppose, don't know why.

Aaaaaaaand it's back to LOLBat. I wonder if Scott's current MO for story arcs is to slam his head in the filing cabinet for a few hours and write.

Speaking of fucking in the head. That gaming table Kurt makes references to is real! IT'S 1,500 BUCKS! Who would spend 1500 bucks on a gaming table? You can get a nice pool table for that dough.
