A tale of 2 larges

Pizza that is.

Can you guess which one is the $9.50 one, and which is the $11.99 one?

Yeah, the answer is obvious if I'm posting this thread. The Papa John's "large" is the other place's small, and is only $5.50. (all prices for a cheese pizza only, toppings not counted)

That's Pizza Al's, considered by most as the best in town, if not the state (suck on THAT, Charleston!)

I worked at Papa Johns for a while. Still remember when my boss put a whole bunch of pizza dough outside cause it was old and he was going to throw it. Later that night he realized he wasn't going to have enough dough and he wanted me to bring it back in. I told him there was no way in hell I was going to touch that stuff, he ended up bringing it in himself and using it. Not a big fan of the place anymore.

The actions of 1 stupid manager are not an indication of how the rest of the chain is run. I'd bet if that manager's district boss knew about it he'd be fired.

I worked at a Chili's for a time. Cleanest place I'd ever worked. Every night we'd scrub the place from top to bottom. Every night the floors got scrubbed, the fryers got changed out & the vents above the grills got washed and cleaned. Every night. It was a pain in the ass but we had to do it. Then I was asked to fill in at another Chili's because their head cook was suddenly out & they needed someone ASAP. I did it but the place was a shithole. I would never eat there again because of their shoddy way of doing things. In fact, that one is no longer there because they got shut down.

Same chain, two VERY different stores.

I know, but if you're reminded of it every time you eat there it's not going to be very appetizing. Doesn't matter where it is.

Our Papa John's wasn't very good either, it closed. I don't know if it was for sanitation reasons or what though. I know the bigger pizza is the better deal but is the medium the same size as the PJ large then? Sometimes you just want that size pizza.

I think the problem was less the size, and more the cost of the offending sizes.

And damn you for making me long for pizza.

Papa Johns are a bunch of worthless funksucking bastards unfit to exist and should be shot into the sun. I wish them to die a thousand horrible, pox-riddled agonizing deaths and their souls to forever wander in torment.

And I haven't even eaten their pizza. This is my opinion of them based upon dealing with their advertising department.

Wow... As far as the delivery chains go, that's the one I always pick. The Dominos and Pizza Huts around here are terrible. Mellow Mushroom and Peppers are the best, though. :D

What a shitty thread. I had thought it was going to feature this person at some point:

Tell em Large Marge sent ya.

Also, lrn2pizza.

Why are you posting pictures of a casserole in a pizza thread?
Here you go:

And nothing beats a NYC pizza from a hole-in-the-wall in Queens. P.S. Manhatten pizzerias are for tourists.

That's what I was thinking. Flat pizza is where it's at. If I didnt just have a big plate of nachos I would be having pizza.
Which pizza is better, DarkAudit?
The better question is why the fuck would someone buy a Papa John's pizza in addition to a good local pizza just to take a picture to prove a point to an internet forum?

I make two pies every Friday Sicilian style. I have about 3/4 of a pie left that serves as lunch through the week.

Cheese pizza is king during lent.

I think they go BETTER on pizza. I don't really like pepperoni or ground beef on pizza. Occasionally I;ll have one with chicken, but veggie pizzas are my favorite.

CG, you should try this sometime: pesto base pizza (instead of tomato sauce), white meat chicken, tomatoes, and onions. It's pretty darn good.
