Skype + Ustream = instant pornca- I mean podcast.
But how do you record ALL the people and not just me? That's the main problem that I'm having. Multiple callers, record to MP3 and interaction.[/QUOTE]

No shit. Setting up UStream is fucking easy. What's NOT easy is setting it up to record me on my computer, Shannow on his, etc. But thanks for the sarcasm. I was running low and needed a refill.

Yeah, I've had a fucked-up morning and I'm definitely Mr. Grumpypants today.

Work is starting to snow me under and the whole time my phone kept ringing because one of the local schools fatfingered my number in instead of the district's nurse and they've been trying to fax shit to me all God damned morning.

Telling Crone she's an idiot is a perfectly acceptable thing to do. It's a good thing. Maybe even the best of things.

Never said she was an idiot. She was trying to help in a very sarcastic way. So I answered in kind that her idea didn't help.

Telling someone to google it or 'look it up themselves' when they ask you for help is pretty lame.

Don't hate you, don't hate her. Not taking sides. If you PM me I'll agree with you. If she PMs me I'll agree with her.

So...Anyone know a good system of recording MULTIPLE people in a podcast?

Skype: There is a 3rd party recording software called Pamela that will work for this. I need to learn more about it but Skype is pretty easy and may be how we go. The problem is for having people just listen in if they don't want to participate. Also, to participate they have to download software so people can't just call in. I think.
Ventrilo: Records but to make it Podcast-worthy I would have to play it back and record it in Audacity. Pain in the ass.
TinyChat: This is supposed to be great but it doesn't record. They say they have a pro version that does but I can't find it and it's not on their page.
UStream: Records and allows for people to participate by chatting, but I don't think it allows for multiple "hosts".

Any others I need to know about?

I didn't originally know the answer, so I asked a few of my tech group. I posted the link given to me by one of the people I asked. When I clicked on it it went straight to the info. In retrospect, I think it was harmless, if not funny, but clearly you reacted differently.

It depends. Did you want live multiple callers or live multiple video hosts? From the research I did this morning, it seems easier to tether skype conference calls to ustream broadcasts rather than doing multiple cohosts:

If conference listeners into Ustream video live (not video cohosts)

first http://www.ehow.com/how_5000157_use-skype-conference-call.html

then this guy shows you how to tie Skype into Ustream.

And this looks like that software app

Webcomics Weekly uses Skype and Audacity, wherein each of the participants calls in and records their side of the conversation, then all those audio files all overlaid and synched.

This method does not allow for audience participation, or a live audience at all.

I'll look at these when I get home tonight. I wasn't really upset, just not....helped. And your tech friend was being sarcastic. The link takes you to a Google screen where it sarcastically types it in for you. It's used to mock net-retards who can't figure shit out on their own. I've been doing a lot of research on this and TalkShoe is still the closest to what I want and I fucking hate that platform now. I've had nothing but issues.

But thanks for the info, Amy. I really do appreciate it. I'm just Mr. Grumpypants today.
