I have to shave every day. I get to skip Saturday-Monday, but by then I actually have to shave twice over to get clean.

My facial hair isn't impressive to look at - it's kind of patchy - but it absolutely destroys disposable razors. It's very coarse so after two or three swaths, the blade is effectively dull. I didn't shave for about two months, and when I finally did, I had to use four razors just to finish the job.

Agreed with the weight excahnge program, I'll take 30 lbs. My minor victory... I am back to the same weight I was at the start of the year, before my girlfriend and I got sick. Took me long enough!

Pretty sure my bathroom is cleaner than the day I moved in. BAM. Easy to work along to a playlist full of movie/game/Buffy/Dr Horrible soundtracks. :awesome:

However, my eyes kinda burn from all the cleaner fumes. Not as BAM.

This is why I switched to straight shaving (minus the patchy bit).

Try putting either hair conditioner or face wash into the hair before shaving, even if it's patchy and short.

Tomorrow is Thursday, which means that the day after is Friday. That's pretty great. Jake and I have been near-giddy for the past few weeks thinking about my triumphant return to my hometown. After 4 years of school, we'll live in the same place again. Bout 14 more weeks. It will be nice.

Also, I get to be "primary teacher" on Friday. I already do a lot of participation throughout the day, but I get to lead them through all the drills and exercises that Ms. Loy usually leads them through. I get to teach all the lessons. I take roll, write out their morning work, all that good stuff. I'm nervous but so excited. I'm wearing my pretty teaching dress. I look forward to getting it covered in dry erase marker, glue, and washable marker. ^_^

On my research cruise last week, we had Dr. Sylvia Earle, marine biologist/oceanographer extraordinaire and Explorer-in-Residence at National Geographic, as a special guest for a half day. In her group was an assistant, photographer, and Time Magazine reporter. Here is the resulting article, I don't know if it will be in the print edition. None of us scientists were mentioned, only the station director.

For the last week, my computer was doing this bullshit of sometimes restarting itself just as it was loading up my desktop. I couldn't figure out what the hell was going on and I tried everything I could think of. Today I finally discovered it was the old wireless network adaptor I was using. So I bought a new one, and it seems to have fixed my problem. Minor victory since it required me spending money I could have used elsewhere.

Today is Programmer Day, as it is the 256th day of the year (1111 1111). It is incredibly geeky, and yet, I'm all in favor of a day to thank programmers for all they do. So, thanks to all the programmers out there who work without credit on things nobody else cares to understand.

A kid in my class's father writes for Marvel comics. I got to be a nerd in front of him and tell him how much I love Deadpool. And the kid brought a little violin with a Mario decal on it and played us the Mario Bros. theme this morning. All in all a very good start to the week.

Oh yeah! With Jamaal Charles' run I've wrapped up winning my matchup in both my fantasy football leagues. This season is starting so much better than last year. (Sorry Cranky Llamas, but you didn't get enough in the first game tonight to make a difference)

Yesterday I was very sick, which is not exactly a victory (although getting myself to that point where I have to lay in bed all day does seem to be my method of dealing with constant stress). What is a victory is that I got to watch not one, not two, but THREE fricken movies I've wanted to see, and not one of them disappointed.

Also, browsing Netflix instant watch on my lovely wife's new iPad, firing up the wireless Blu-Ray player, and watching the movies all without dragging my sick ass out of bed was a groovy bonus perk.

my indian law prof assigned me a case to recite the next day. Reciting is extremely nerve wracking for me so I was stressed out. It took TWO WEEKS for me to get a chance to recite. It has been incredibly tense for me. Finally today I got to finish it.
