Games You're Looking Forward To

Just like the title says, what are some upcoming games that you're looking forward to playing?

A few of mne:

-The latest Sam & Max season!
-Heavy Rain (technically already released, but I have to wait 60 days to rent games for free at work)
-L.A. Noire, which I hear might get released this year.
-Naughty Bear, which feels like Care Bears meets Friday the 13th

And last, but most certainly not least - the only game that I'm breaking my "spend no more than $30 on a game" rule and the one that I've already pre-ordered...

-Dead mothereffing Rising 2 (Aug 31). Only in DR2 could you wear assless chaps while smacking a zombie with a pink didlo.

I'm going to bring this up in every thread that ever mentions it.

ALL chaps are assless. If they weren't, they'd be leather pants.

There's a couple games on the horizon I'm mildly interested in, but they all pale in comparison to The Last Guardian.
Ico and Shadow of the Collosus are two of the best games ever made, period.I can't wait to see the amount of epic awesomeness the team can come up with on the PS3. I mean, seriously, that creature ius probably the most awesome looking thing I've seen in a game ever.

and lets move onto other reason I bought a PS3:
Final Fantasy XIV:
Hells. Fuckin. Yeah. FFXI was my first MMO and while I loved a lot of it (awesome community, great world/lore, pitch-perfect group combat system) the more frustrating aspects of the game (mostly the amount of time needed to accomplish anything) eventually drove me away. But now SE back with an FF MMO that's more casually focused. Sign me up!

You know what really ticks me off. The fact that they made the MMO final fantasies in the main series numbering. It's the only series that I'm a completest with and I have to buy these POS MMOs because of my stupid addiction.

I'm basically the opposite, I've barely played any FF games, and am I not too fond of the JRPG genre in general. But I can enjoy the hell out of a good MMO (which is a rare thing these days for sure). I enjoyed FFXI but the period in my life where I had that much disposable time on my hands is long gone.
But I'm REALLY looking forward to XIV. Everything I read about it just reaffirms my primal need to play this game.
The last MMO I've been able to stay with past the trial period was LOTRO, and I really liked that game but the crappiness of it's latest xpac has driven me (and 3/4 of my guild) away from it.
And what else is out there atm is depressing:
Aion -- Crappy generic Korean grinder in a prettier package
Warhammer -- Just too many deep-seeded problems nthat will most likely never be fixed and its basically running on a skeleton crew of a dev team at the moment.
Age of Conan: -- Ok, I've actually heard this one has shaped up considerably but I still have no urge to return

And I just don't want to go back to WoW... >.<

I just wished they would have launched a separate series and called it Final Fantasy online 1 and 2 or something. My collection looks gappy when I have FF1-X, then 12, and now it will be 13 then 15.

Yes, I know it's my own stupid thing, but it's annoying.

I'm going to build a time machine and transport myself to the year 2024, so I'll be able to play Episode 3 and Black Mesa.

I'll probably also honk a co-worker's boob while I'm there.

Interested in Last Guardian also. It'll just have to wait until I can get the console.
Hell, I just found out that people are selling Ico for ... $120? WTF?
Also, I have to mention Duke Nukem Forever. I'd like to say I was alive when it was released.

After a few games of the Starcraft 2 beta, I can't wait for it to get released.

Also:

Mass Effect 3
Diablo 3
Civilization V
Dead Rising 2
Fallout: Las Vegas

Geez I got a used copy for 20 bucks at a gamestop only a couple years ago. Surprised it's value has gone up THAT much.

I feel I'm in the minority but i actually liked Ico better than Shadow of the Collossus, though of course both games were amazing.

The more I see of Alan Wake, the less I get excited about it. Doesn't help that it's had such a HUGE development time.

Starcraft 2 and Transformers: War for Cybertron. They better finally make a Transformers game that doesn't suck complete ass.

  • Mario Galaxy 2 (and Metroid, and Zelda and...)
  • The rest of the Bit Trip series
  • Epic Mickey
  • Sonic 4: Episode 1

Alright, I'm kind getting stoked to play some Alpha Protocol. Mostly because I have an unhealthy love for the guys at Obsidian (and Black Isle before that). I can't wait to see what an Espionage RPG is.

I expect it to have some real technical issues (because all Obsidian games always do) but that everything else will make it worth playing. If it wasn't for them being rushed so badly KOTOR 2 would have been miles better than the first and Neverwinter Nights 2 and Mask of the Betrayer were both fantastic RPGs.

Also, count me in for Fallout: New Vegas. The guys that made Fallout 1 and 2 doing this one, it's gonna blow Fallout 3 out of the water.
