Dominos Online Ordering system

I am a technology fetishist. I know what tech can do, and it makes my nipples explode with delight when the higher ups in a major company figure it out. Dominos online delivery system is a perfect example of that. It is one of the best ordering websites I have ever seen, simply for building your order, but the best part is that they have a monitoring systyem that you can watch that is tied into their instore systems.

What that means is that right now I am watching a red bar blink that says that my pizza is being baked. It was already prepped, and it's about to get a quality check. The best part (kind of the only part that matters) is that it tells me when the pizza is out the door being delivered. I just wait a minute or two and walk downstairs and BOOM. There is he is.

Dominos in no way gave me money or pizza to say this *nom nom nom*


Edit: Nadia put my order in at 7:39!

Erkan just left the store with my pizza! (quality check seemed kind of fast.....)

We've ordered Dominoes online during DnD sessions before and it's quite handy. Admittedly, it never really saved us much time. Instead of ordering and getting back to the game, we'd inevitably remain huddled around the computer watching the little progress bar until it arrived.

I think the bar is just automated. It'll always go through the same prep time and quality inspection time no matter what.


I also doubt there is a quality inspection at all. Unless that includes the once over to make sure there isn't a rat or something sitting on top.

I gotta say I like their system also, found some toppings there that I didn't know they had, and now order it almost every time. White sauce and grilled chicken, make quite a tasty pizza.

I know I was surprised at how much their pizzas have improved. I guess tying with Chuck E. Cheese was the wake up call they needed. When I was a young kid their pizza was great and I was disappointed when later on the pizza tasted awful.

Yeah, there's been a big improvement in Domino's, no question. I actually love their thin crust pizza now, more than Pizza Hut's or any other chains that I've tried.

I have only ordered pizza online from Pizza Pizza, and they don't have anything like that, but it is much easier than ordering delivery over the phone.
Do you guys have Pizza Pizza in the states? I heard somewhere that you don't. A lot of my friends don't like it but I friggin' LOVE it. Pricey though so I almost never order from there.


As far as Dominoes, I haven't eaten their pizza since I was like 12. It was absolutely disgusting. Hands down, no contest, the worst pizza I've ever eaten. Just thinking about it now makes me angry. If McCains Pizza Pockets taste better than your product, you should not even be allowed to call it pizza.

Closest thing to Pizza Pizza would be Little Caesar's, I think (Pizza Pizza is their slogan).

One that I wish we had down here in the south that I miss from California is Round Table Pizza. Mmmmmm......

I've become a HUGE Papa John's fan, though. Domino's was my go-to when I lived in Huntsville, AL, because they stayed open 24 hours - when I was up at 0330 gaming, and wanted a pie, they were on the spot with it. *grins*

I haven't eaten at Dominos in years. I stopped because every time I ate their pizza it messed my stomach up. I have been meaning to try them again after they changed their recipe but I have yet to do so because I found a really good pizza shop that is right by my house.

I have to admit, during mid summer (like now) when the price of 2 liter sodas goes way high, I'll get a pizza from dominos, and like 3 or 4 sodas for nearly same price as stores charge, just so the delivery guy can carry the sodas up to my third floor apartment....

...and the pizzas have much improved to my way of thinking too.

I love Domino's system I've stopped ordering online from anywhere else because the other sites require all sorts of information so that they can send you offers and bullshit. Dominos is just chill about it address and credit info and you are good to go.

I was in a Jack in the Box recently that had an touch screen ordering computer. I thought it was cool b/c of the tech and sad b/c it was there probably b/c the employees didn't speak English.

The Jack in the Box by me has the same thing. At first I was concerned for the jobs of the employees but I must admit it was a bit of a time saver but strangely last time I went to them the machine was turned off and I had to wait about 5 minutes for someone to come take my order (and I was the only person in line) so now I can't wait until they get it up and running again.

I hate Domino's pizza, but as a marketer, I think their ordering system and "status" screen are fantastic. They really worked out how to get people to the status screen as soon as possible and figured out a way to maximize customer engagement and branding.

I LOVE the new Dominos. Love the ordering system as well. It's the best website for ordering pizza I have encountered and the spicy Hawaiian pizza is ridiculously good.

my wife no like you no more ;)

She loves her pineapple, pepperoni, REAL bacon, and Cheese :) if you put Cashew on it, she is in heaven.
