Fuck, I need to finish up a couple lecture powerpoints, but I can't focus at all. I had one of those bold Starbucks coffee grounds laying around the house, so I had about 6 cups this morning. I can barely sit fucking still and my heart is racing like a jackrabbit. I've been drinking like 10 gallons of water to chill the fuck out.

...ugh, I need some weed.

I swear my works cafe has it out for me. A few months abck I was eatign a fish burger with an olive puree topping and I found an olive pit. Luckily I was not biting down real hard when I did find it. I reported it to the cafe and they apologized. Fast forward to today I am eating a chicken curry sandwich and I bite down and low and behold I feel something hard. I check and sure enough it's a bone. Luckily once again I detected the bone before I bit down to hard and so I didn't hurt my teeth at all. I went and let the cafe know what happened and they apologized again and told me they would do their best to amke sure it never happened again. The cafe told me that they pay extra to order from a place that supposedly does a thorough check of the food before it gets sent out. They offered me a refund but I declined since I still was able to eat the food and no real harm was done. But it still seems odd that it is always me that ends up finding a bone or something in their food.

Maybe if you weren't so anal on how they do things, they would stop trying to kill you.
But by some chance they do succeed one day I will be thrilled. That day All your stuff will be mine.

So here in Canadaland... Calgary, Alberta to be specific... we just got a large snowstorm (the first of the season). Now the volume of snow wasn't a big deal but it was wet and froze and now there's ice everywhere. I would just like to thank all the assholes who have shitty all season tires and still think they can drive up and down icy hills just as well as someone with proper winter tires. It took me over an hour and a half to do my usual 10 minute drive thanks to all the wankers who should know what the hell our winters are like. Seriously... we live in a place that gets lots of snow and more importantly develops LOTS of ice very frequently in the winter. Buy the proper damn tires for your car people!

That is all... I just need to get that out of my system.

Do you guys keep an extra set of wheels with snow tires on them for the icy months? Or just get the tires changed as October approaches?

Personally I have a full set of winter tires and rims for each of my three vehicles. When the time comes to swap out the summer tires I do the change myself in my garage... takes me about 30-40 minutes for each car. After driving with proper winter tires for many years now I will never ever go back to all seasons for winter usage... they just suck hard.

Here is a very minor rant but a rant none the less. Last night I got my next Netflix DVD in (My Neighbor Totoro) and I was really looking forward to watching it. I got all the stuff I needed to get done for the night out of the way and was getting ready to watch the movie and the freaking power went out!

This is a rant I think we can all get into.

I don't know what game to play. I just started getting into Minecraft thanks to that fucking thread, and my son bought me Fallout: New Vegas. My Warrior just hit 80 in WoW with Cataclysm coming out in less than a month. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO PLAY!!! If I play Minecraft or Fallout I let down the WoW Guild and will have a harder time when Cata hits. If I play Fallout or WoW then my Minecraft area doesn't get worked on. If I play WoW or Minecraft then I'm not playing Fallout, which is also bad all on its own.

Huh. So apparently four days before it starts is not early enough to buy tickets to the new Harry Potter. As my daughter was promised that she'd see it opening day, I had to commit to a half-hour drive to get tickets.

Sheesh.

I have a feeling I've kept everyone around me at arms length for so long I can't quite reach them anymore, and wouldn't know how to let them in if I could.

There's only one way to find that out, my dear mountain man friend.

Call 'em. Or send a mule with a note stapled to its rear. The point is, you don't know until you try and contact them. I myself have dropped out aof radar from time to time, and after I get back I still try and contact friends, and apologize for my absences.

In my family law class the prof has his TA walk behind the classroom and monitor our laptop usage. After class yesterday i got an email telling me I couldnt bring my laptop to class anymore. WTF? I wasn't even doing anything. I was, and am still, SO pissed. But that isn't the point of this rant.

All my friends know Im mad but today I was settling in before Indian law and I was telling my friend Letitia about the whole laptop thing. I was SO MAD. I'm just livid about it. And I was talking about the TA, who wears really REALLY tight shirts and shorts, and also has a fake tan and wears gold chains, I said, seriously who dresses like that this isn't New Jersey (and I call him Guido usually I didnt this morning thankfully.)" Later tonight Andrea, who was there, told me that one of our classmates was really laughing about it and that he is in the same grade as the TA. They could totally be friends.

So my rant is basically I need to think before I speak >.>

I hate that guy though. Grrr.

On a side note though Andrea made me laugh so hard on the way to the movie this afternoon. We were talking about Indian Law and how like every hot guy at the law school is in that class. As we were driving the person in front of me kind of slammed on his brakes so I had to hit mine a bit. It was disconcerting, I said to her don't worry we aren't going fast enough to get us killed you'll still have time to post to facebook, "tell all the guys in Indian Law that they're hot!" she was quiet for a minute then said, I would totally do that.

Auuuuugh. My students are going to this "pioneer day" out in the boonies where they get to live the life of pioneers in costume and whatnot for an afternoon. I wish I could just take off. I could use the time to do some paperwork, and I don't want to wear a goddamn bonnet. I know I should look on the bright side... no worksheets to grade, and they'll pretty much behave okay because they'll be happy to get out of the classroom. But man... I am NOT in the mood.

I went to Starbucks today and ordered my usual 5 shots over ice. When I got my drink it tasted like melted plastic. I could tell that the bottom of the cup had been melted. Apparently they had poured the hot shots directly into the plastic cup and then added the ice. Sadly I was running late and did not have the time to wait for them to make me new drink. The stupidest part I was so desperate for the caffeine I still ended up drinking it. But at least now I have had my dietary intake of plastic for the month. :)

They haven't in Ontario until very recently, at least where I lived. Upon my move to BC and finding out that all of their stores have it I was pretty pissed actually. It's not that I go often, rarely really, but I hardly, if ever, have cash on me and the only place that would stay open late back home was timmys, usually at this time I'd be walking back from a friend's place.

Even when I've gone back to visit most recently as this summer they didn't have debit at store closest to my Dad's. Credit cards and the little debit pin pad, but they don't actually accept debit. May have changed now though, not sure.

Do debit cards work differently in canada? My debit card can be run thru as a credit transaction without any problem. Any place that accepts visa credit thus accepts my debit.

Tim hortans is literally the only place I have ever run into this situation, that they accept credit and not debit, so I really have no idea.
