I had to tell some one in one of my college organizations that every motion on the floor does not need a 10 minute monologue. Then I introduced him to the concept of talking to the members during the week.
I hate when debate goes on because people are puffed up. Congratulations dude with the floor. You just contributed nothing but a reiteration of what's been said 10 times already. Or when Old Scientist 1 has to stand up and ask a question that was clearly answered in the talk just to ask something.

"This year we've amended the panel discussions. According to our new rules, anyone who asks a question that has quite clearly already been asked will receive a headbutt from Vinnie Jones."

If I see this "Android user vs. iPhone user vs. Blackberry user" infographic on one more website.... It's not even that clever.

I think it's pretty clever. However I've only seen it on one website so maybe if it was overused I'd feel differently.

Meh, I thought they made the obvious jokes. I think I lost count at about 10-15. I mean it was through Google Reader's recommended feeds, but still. I don't usually see that kind of repetition.

Holy crap, Fade doesn't like something?!

I hate the end of daylight savings. Now it's dark when I go to work at 7 and dark when I leave work at 4:30.

Get your mother to eat raw watermelon during pregnancy.

Every day, once per day you can increase the odds of giving birth to a certain gender by eating a certain fruit (watermelon for a girl, apples for a boy). If you make your mother eat a watermelon for each of the three days during her pregnancy, she will have a 99% chance of giving birth to a girl, or girls.

And [apparently much like in real life], if your Sim mother gives birth to a gender, they are more likely to give birth to repeats of that gender in the future. The fruit trick trumps this though. :)

Leave nothing to chance when it comes to the Sims! I specifically place households full of attractive men and women with varying positive traits and even cool last names, just so that I can improve the neighbourhood genepool as much as I can over the next 5 generations.

The only other person I know IRL who plays the Sims 3 has come to expect crazy Sims stories from me, so I tend to make crazy situations just for the sake of having good stories.

I just like playing them through their daily lives and building homes. I don't really go out of my way to do anything crazy.

Fuck...

I bought some fairly expensive headphones, $80 for headphones is expensive for me anyway, about a month back. Today while I was making pasta and listening to music, my girlfriend's dad came into the kitchen so I took them out of my ears and put them into my pocket to be polite. I walked back to our room to grab something and on my way back my foot got caught in the cord that was dangling from my pocket and it severed itself at the volume control node that they had on the cord. Luckily, I just started at Best Buy and with the employee discount I can get decent headphones rather cheap but I am sick of running through headphones. Despite this being a bit different from what normally happens, they'll wear out at where the cord connects to the jack, and this one being entirely my fault, I find I am constantly replacing them. Anyone know of a decent pair of in-ear head phones that will last more than 6 months? Or any headphones really.

I have been really having trouble with jealousy lately. It's so weird because I'm not usually an envious person but lately I've been really having a problem. It makes me unhappy.

Those ones probably wouldn't have worn out in six months.

I don't think there are any headphones with cords that would withstand that. You could try getting ones that are wireless; there's the part around your head and the part hooking into the audio jack, connected by signal.

They make headphones with replaceable cords. They don't come earbud style as far as I know, but you can find IEMs (in-ear monitors) and padded headphones with'em. Ultimate Ears are expensive, but have a good reputation for sound quality and all of their cords are user replaceable. If you wanna go cheaper, Altec Lansing has a line that are based on UE technology. I have the Altec Lansing UHP-336, which is basically a rebranded UE Super.fi 3 for a third of the price (totally worth the money, although not very comfortable for extended periods of listening. Also, with the over-the-ear design of the cord, I find it best to use silicon cord covers because my skin pH breaks down the cord material).

Those are the only brands I can think of off the top of my head that have replaceable cords. If you really want to go down the rabbit hole, head-fi.org is a good place to check out.

My computer died when one of my computer savy friends installed a new processor fan (or whatever those are called). Both him and my friend that is actually studying to do this stuff have been trying to fix it all night, with no results... Now I'm stuck browsing the internet in my stone age laptop that barely works and I don't know if I'll get my files back.

Fuckity fuck.

Jelly, you would do well to remember one adage that I have found true when dealing with computers and women:

If it has silicon, don't trust it.

Four hours of sleep. Woken up by the cat knocking over a tv tray, which I had to clean up. Of course, because I am unable to fall back asleep after being woken up, I am stuck sitting here with a migraine. This does not bode well for the rest of the day.

After-work nap?

I may have to take a nap this afternoon. Have a 40K game later tonight, the wife is going to spend an hour teaching me the basics of throwing clay on a wheel, plus I still want to finish scrubbing Resolve into the carpet in the basement carpet to get the lovely pet odors out. I'm working very hard not to be grump Krisken!

Yeah, don't go to 40k with a migraine; you'll forget half the rules.

I'm heading to GW soon to try and get a couple games in for practice; good luck with yours.
