Just watched an episode of Dudesons in America, the one where the guys try to earn an honorary membership in a Native American tribe by completing their own variety of ordeals, including jumping on a (barrel) horse from the roof, attacking a (mock-up) train with a car painted to look like an eagle, catching fish with their bare teeth, getting whacked on the nuts with a totem pole and that sort of stuff. They actually managed to get an Indian chief, Saginaw, to be the judg of the ordeals, and they certainly earned their titles. One guy broke his back, the other broke at least three ribs.

I was a bit surprised to hear this episode got taken off the air in the States (after twenty or so reruns, of course) because of a petition made in one of the reservations. Granted, the Dudesons have about three brain cells in total, but they weren't mocking the Native Americans. They were just being their usual dim-witted, masochistic selves in their ordeals. And, to be honest, they actually seemed quite respectful of the chief.

I have to admit, it makes me giggle thinking that I can watch something like this back here that won't get aired in the States due to political correctness

You can watch it, but your stock has plummetted.

I had never heard of it so I had to look it up. Thanks so much for that.

It sounds pretty stupid. It reminds me of my friend Rob talking about how the local tribe he worked with, dealing with what they called 'pinkskins' - European or Euro-descended people who tried to adopt their tribe's culture.

I saw How To Train Yor Dragon Yesterday, and while I loved it, and while the animation on the dragons makes them pretty awesome, there's something that bugs me about them (except Toothless). Why do they look like they were designed using the Spore creature creator?

What do you mean?

Also, you're welcome. Unless that was sarcasm.

I should be glad I had never heard of that show until now.
Well, it's like the Finnish version of Jackass so there's not much to hear about, really.

It's a bit better than it sounds like, in my opinion. Not by much, but a little. The series is about the Dudesons doing Jackass-style stunts that are somehow related to various things we Europeans associate with Americans and the American media. The first episode was about doing action movie stunts such as jumping the mast as a pirate, that ninja training bit where you do push-ups over a mass of lit candles and so on. The second episode was about fucking around in Roswell, preparing to defend the Earth from an alien invasion. The third episode was the one about the Indians. The fourth, which airs next week over here, will be about US Army-related stunts - one of which apparently involves a frickin' tank.

But yeah, in the end it's all about crushing balls and breaking bones.

Just got "Bearers of the black staff", gonna spend the next month reading the entire 20-book-Shannara-series chronologically, from Running with the Demon to Straken.

Wish me luck

Was in town the other day for court (ALL. FREAKIN. DAY.) and while I was walking around between cases, a guy came by on a bike, BELTING out Sinatra's "My Way." Did a damned fine job of it, too!

In 57 hours I will be getting on an airplane and flying to Prague to study abroad for my last semester of college.

I should start packing.

my school's officially closed tomorrow.

Honestly though, for all the hubub, I was expecting them to be forecasting more than 40cm. 40cm is not that much. Has it really been that long since Southern Ontario had a REAL snowstorm? I remember getting school days because of 3 feet of snow with 5 foot snow drifts. 40cm is not even 2 feet.
