Minor victory thread

If everything goes as planned, tomorrow I'll have a job. (a real job, I'm not sure reading books for a publishing house counts).

I'm pretty scared, actually.

The gym is so much nicer with an iPod. (thanks Bdog ^_^)

Finally made it over to the new wellness center. It is really nice. I was a bit worried when I drove by, before it opened, and saw how open the space is. One of the things I always hated about the Dome was how open and loud it was. The football team working out was also annoying because they are super loud and their music is shitty. Nice to look at though >.>

There is a giant climbing wall in the middle of the place. This chick I go to school with was there. She isn't really a friend she just kind of hangs out with our group sometimes (I describe her as Joey's, on Friends, annoying ex-girlfriend.) She wanted me to try the wall. HAHA no. I'm not afraid of heights and I'm not even afraid of making a fool of myself but I AM very afraid of falling to the ground and becoming paralyzed or something. Hell's to the no.

Last night, I actually dreamt I was caught in the middle of an epic battle between pirates and ninjas. One of my best dreams that I can remember recently.

Damn that's a pretty impressive stack, those are some serious titles. Only thing missing in my opinion is a copy of Metal Gear.

I've been doing two sets of 50 sit-ups the last couple days! :)

Worked on Sucker Punch - Amber for most of the day. I got all the pieces to her jacket cut out and was all ready to start sewing until I ran out of olive trim. I'll be picking more up tomorrow though!

Bought my Harry Potter exhibit tickets today for 5:45 tomorrow! It's closing on Sunday and we're finally going. So stoked!

Dr Horrible show on Saturday at 2 and hanging out with a friend we don't get to see very often. Woo!

Made cosplay plans with a friend for SakuraCon in April. Robin and Raven from Teen Titans. :D
I'm pretty much going to drive myself crazy until SakuraCon. I have to finish my new Tinkerballa and Amber by Emerald City ComiCon in March and then I begin work on SakuraCon costumes right after. Tenten from Naruto Shippuden, possibly a ballgown for masq, Teen Titan's Raven and hopefully Him from Powerpuff Girls. Can I die now???

Normally I work Mon,Tue,Thu,Fri,Sat every week, but since I'll be visiting the GF every other week from now until June, I've gotten every other Sat off, paid.

This is the first week I start that off week, 4 days of work for 5 days of pay!

Had two young Jehovah's Witnesses come to my door to talk about Intelligent Design. I discussed with them for a few minutes, pointing out flaws in their arguments and encouraging them to read up. I don't think I got to them, since all I got back was that pasted-on polite smile and blank stares.

Would have been an epic win if I had managed to repeat the time when I got a fair-heared young Pentecostal girl to yell after me "Oh yeah!? Well... God doesn't need people!"

Also, am I evil for heckling door-to-door or street converters?

Well I was thinking of opening the door in the nude, but one of them was actually quite good-looking. Something might have risen.

I have an interview on March 3rd for a full time clerk position in the front office of the high school my mom teaches at. If I get the job, this will definitely be upgraded to the "Epic Win" thread!

Not evil.... you are my hero. I always kind of pansy out and be nice to them.
I am always nice to them, after debating their questionable knowledge of who wrote the Bible and what it means. I'll agree to pray with them, and even start the prayer with a sign of the cross.

A friend of mine had so many proselytizers coming around he kept a prayer mat by his door. Look to the east...

I could have posted these a while back, but I'll post them now while I'm thinking about it. Two kitchen tools have been added to our household recently that have made me wonder why we ever lived without them.

1) A butter bell / French butter dish - this is an awesome way to keep butter. It keeps it fresh, but still soft and spreadable. It's nice to finally enter the 19th century.

2) A honing steel for our knives - I think my mom was afraid of sharp knives, and that's why we didn't own one before, but I'm so glad we do now. It's amazing how much easier kitchen work is with a sharp knife.

I'll put the butter bell next to the salt pig as things I never thought of but want some day in my fantasy kitchen. Where I will probably still live on noodles and potatoes.

Growing up we kept the butter bell in the fridge, the ceramic would insulate the butter from being too cold and help block some of the stray odors.

I knew a little old lady that had a small chest of drawers in her kitchen that she kept her butter and cheese in. Room temperature cheddar cheese tastes good, but I can't get over the sweaty, greasy appearance of it.

I'm home yet again but I'm still woohoo about it! Also my mom made steak (II know that is one of HALFORUMS FORBIDDEN FOODS but too bad) It was awesome. The dogs thought so too (I gave them half of my steak hehe) Best meal I've had in two weeks. So now I am full of actual home cooking and I have my dogs and my cats. I am so happy ^_^

The latest book (well, PDF only at the moment) that I worked on is still hanging in the top 15 on DriveThruRPG's Top 100 Small Press products. Not bad for only being out a couple days.

The "Diet Soda" thread made me laugh so hard that I forgot about everything I've been stressed about this week. I love our new chicken friend.

Ahh. I just got back home from the General Assembly of my student organisation. The Assembly lasted three-and-a-half hours. The good thing is that it lasted a full half hour more than last year when I had to chair the damn thing. And this year I got to force a legal technicality down the board's throats.

If I had any compassion in me, I'd feel sorry for the guy who had to chair this Assembly. But, as it stands, life is good.

I make the best breakfast in the world. Man... one day I'd love to have a little all-day breakfast place. Serve people eggs at 3 pm, call 'em "Sugar," have a little syrup carousel...
