Sure there are Stats!

Helga: awesome!
Rusty: wickedly awesome!
Falagar: okish
Ire: better than average
Simkin: totally tubular dude
Tyrdin: no good murdering rat bastard who frigged up a simple riddle, most likely because he was distracted by the fact that he murdered his own mother with a railway tie

It's all good. Riddles are perhaps the hardest thing to role play. I knew the answer to and source of all three riddles, but had to play Rusty as if he didn't have a clue.

See, that's the thing. You can even google these riddles and find the answer, and while you can technically do that, RP-wise, your character is stumped.

First riddle;

Me: "I remember this riddle! Do I still have the module it's from? No, I traded that away for that video game. Bet I still have the PDF though."

Rusty: "durrrrr"

Ah Doom, always a plight to anguish over.

If you're alt-tabbing to goggle the answer to a riddle than you ain't playing the game the way it is supposed to be played. I kinda caught on after the answers came up 15 seconds after I copy and pasted the riddle.

I'll come up with custom riddles but I'm afraid of wasting evening since you guys can't get "non goggle-able" answers before an hour passes by such as kneeling in front of a statue. aka :"high-five" "random hugs"

Though I was amused.

Wasn't it a few sessions ago where the issue was... "Why did I need to perform a roll to see something like a chain in the muck?" while the answer to this puzzle was as plain as day.

Aaaaaaahhhhh gobbity gook.

And there will be more of stuff like this.

I can honestly say I've never googled a riddle.

In my Warden's game, we once spent an hour decoding some ridiculous 2-layered cipher. While the people in my group that are good at that kind of stuff OOC and intelligent IC worked out what the message said, my dumb ass just started experimenting and solved it first. :)

R

rathkor

I gotta say, Rathkor had some better lvl 5 moves than Ire will. oh well. lol

Doom's got you all fooled, but not me, I have found the exact same character in classical lore!

Not only that, when he hits Helga with blazing starfall, it's a good thing.

Also, I made a dragonborn because we just adopted a lizard.

Yeah, using your dragon breath twice per round and then using a standard is sweet. I get the feeling that WoTC has got it hard for dragonborn sorcerers based on all the feats available.

What other types of dragonborns should I make to celebrate the arrival of this fat tail gecko thing that is now in my loft.

You guys make me want to try out 4e. I haven't touched pen & paper D&D since middle school 20+ years ago.
It's fun. Four of us have been doing these games on here for nearly two years in different campaigns. You should try seeing if there's a group in your area.

HC, you can be a Dragonborn Sorcerer, but don't kill Tieflings' mothers or else it's the broken psychic Disneyland ride for you.

Possibly after I move to Oregon in July. I have Castle Ravenloft, which is based on 4e rules but I've found it to be a bit unforgiving. We have to make it a bit easier on the players with house rules. :-\

Seems to me that all we need is another person willing to DM and we already have another group rolled up and ready to go. ;)
