I would try starting one myself, but i fear I would be terrible. Too many monsters in one place. Too few. Giving too many items. too little. its all way too over my head.

He's probably laying in a ditch, broken and destroyed after listening to the instructions Jay and I gave him last week.

ok, doom, i just created the best character ever. it is a combination of Rathkor from this game and your game. it is freakin awesome and I am dying to play him. you definately need to start up a campain.

everyone else, if Doom can't, someone needs to. lol

I haven't even started FFXI yet, for lack of time mostly. =P

Hmmm, me DMing a game..

Well, I guess I could give it a shot, but I feel like my pacing might be abysmal for a 3-4 hour a night game. In our IRL game, we've usually done around 12 hours per session, and like nothing gets done. I think every encounter we've had has taken at least 2 hours-- one went on for 5.

I feel like I might be awful for shorter sessions like this. But I dunno, if you guys wanted, we could give it a shot. I do try to have creative encounters, I like to make RP worthwhile.. I do houserule a -lot- of stuff.

Eh, I'll think on it if you guys want me to.

technically a 3rd. 4rth if i stay in that 3.5 game, but seeing as they piss me off more than the time tyrdin killed me, i dont see me staying in that one. lol seriously though, its up to you.

I got a character with both basic melee and ranged that a leader can order me to do, so id work well with a leader. just saying.

Wait, are we officially calling characters for a game we're not sure is happening? well, to get dibs in while I can, Dragonborn HexBlade, probably named Rathkor. XD

What's involved (financially, etc.) for an online session like you guys do? Color me completely clueless about this newfangled D&D you've got going.

Also, I always liked the idea of playing a monk. I guess that's a striker? <-- that's a-me!

We use Ventrilo (free) to chat to eachother (microphone) and Gametable to play online (free). We also use a shared account for D&D to create our characters and some PDF files explaining the 4th edition to us. The DM uses more tools but players have little in terms of what is needed to get up and going.

i thought Essential builds could carry over to regular 4e games. if not, no worries, I have a few backups.

WoTC say things like that, and for the most part they are true. Your class and power selections can easily be used in regular 4E. The Essentials feat selection, that's completely different. They say that all regular 4E characters can use Essentials feats, what they mean to say is "We're sorry we fucked up so bad. Here is the fix. Please don't call this 4.5E."

So if any single character is using Essentials feats, you need to open them up to all players, or the disparity will quickly outstrip the PC's, same as with Ebberon feats.

I don't really want to killjoy, but much as I want to try out other characters, should we really be setting up an alternating schedule? We've tried this before, you know.
