[Webcomic] PVP Discussion

My school was all about skipping rope. Our gym teacher was annoyingly enthusiatic about jump rope and would make fun of you if you had trouble doing it.

I liked Max's comment "this isn't a romantic comedy; it's my life." Reminds me of all the women I know who talk about wanting a gay best friend in the same way kids talk about wanting a puppy. It's... weird.

I'm everyone's "person whose sexuality is not often the topic of conversation so that outsiders are free to speculate" best friend.

When did anyone say it was a fault, exactly? He just said Max's life isn't perfect. It's not because he's gay, it's because he's had a hard time admitting that to people he considers close friends.

Personally I think Max was way better as a foil than as a "complicated character". I feel like PVP in the last few years is a constant struggle between the funny side of Scott we see in his stuff with Kris and the part of him that wants to be taken super seriously.

Maybe the Penny Arcade guys did, and they're currently reading said strip and laughing amongst themselves with evil delight.

Hey, I get it, I'm an artist, it's the most painful thing in the world when someone doesn't like something I've put my blood, sweat, and tears into... but dammit thats how you grow and get better.

Maybe it's a play on 'fat animal eating something,' like Garfield? Didn't Scott have a pregnant cat eating pickles as a t-shirt design once?

Well, that kind of begs the question of what "Penny Arcade" is, in the PVP world. The characters have crossed over before, and that's fine - but it's one thing for Gabe, Tycho, and Francis to be at the same convention, it's a whole other for Penny Arcade (webzine? blog? print magazine? weekly web show?) to be a competitor with PVP Online magazine.

It gets better - the whole arc was just a lead up to this most recent blog post.
Magic: The Gathering is now a sponser of PvP (at least for the next 3 months).
