Very few people are going to get this:

Notch Scrolling Haters Gonna Hate.jpg

The photo is of Notch / Markus Persson creator of Minecraft. His company, Mojang, recently recieved a cease and desist letter from Bethesda over the use of the name "Scrolls" for an upcoming project.

From Woot.com

"The Dangers of Discount Taxidermy."

"We'll put it behind some shrubs. No one will notice."

Hey, we get it. Taxidermy's hard. It's an art form, and it takes a lot of practice. For all we know every taxidermist has a shed full of these "learning experiences." But we have to wonder how many of these were the equivalent of a living room tattoo: "Hey, I got a buddy that can probably do that for you, and CHEAP."

"Jake, we're out of bear teeth-" "JUST SLAP SOMETHING IN THERE! What's the difference?!"

Did people pay for these? Did they receive the finished work and do anything other than scream and hurl it out the nearest window? Or was it more like when you open your Christmas presents to discover some @$%hole bought you socks again, when you have to fake a smile and say something about how nice it is and how much you appreciate the thought? We may never know.

"There I was, rifle in hand, when the leopard came over the crest of the hill. I'll never forget the look on his face."

Take a trip down the worst attempts to capture the majesty of nature, but before you feel bad for the horribly defaced animals contained therein, just know that it could be worse: we could be looking at Pathetic Plastic Surgery.

The Bobcat is by far the most flamboyant and sassy of cats.

As some of you may know I work a job where when I am not running around like a chicken with a severed head I have an abundance of free time to mess around online. I have been half-watching "Deadliest Warrior" for giggles and shits. My policy is to pause/mute anything I have going on when I get a phone call. That's when I noticed the screen I had paused on. I genuinely guffawed.

Deadliest Warrior, the show where one grenade is deemed better than another because it can blow up a pig better than the other blows up six randomly placed mannequins.

I only watched the first 5 or so deadliest warriors... they all followed the exact same pattern. Never have I thought it possible to be so bored by so much of what should be awesome.

I always kind of dig watching the testing of stuff just to see the results, but the mock larp battle at the end is usually so terrible that I don't find out who wins in the end.

My biggest problem with the end battle is that it's based on their faulty computer models, which are based on largely arbitrary numbers. I agree that the demonstration part is interesting though. They should just focus on that and skip any false attempts to scientifically prove anything.

Yeah, like comparing weapons based on how much time it took each group to clear out a room of mannequins when one group is made up of ex-navy seals and the other is made of up guys who think Russian special forces are rad. Well, that gun only took half as much time in the hands of the ex-navy seal as the other one did in the other guy's hands.

How is that testing the gun, that's testing the God damn people shooting them.

Even if we had holodeck technology to actually test the pairings over and over again without killing scores of professional cosplayers, it still wouldn't be accurate because that system, like the current, is heavily GIGO.

Medieval: Total War 2. It's a few years old by now, but it's a great strategy game. You should be able to find it online easily enough.
Merci beaucoup. I was looking at the Total War series from a way back but it seemed just like big battles in all the gameplay videos; I never saw this side of it.

That's funny. The strategy side on the map is a bigger component than the battles. In fact, you can skip battles and have the AI sort it out; most people do that often so they can focus on the strategy and building aspects.

Oh bless you my little alien friend, that's exactly what I wanted to hear.
