New Picture Thread

I don't really take a lot of pictures...

Here is one from this summer with me being drunk and dumb.

One from last spring or fall not sure...

One from last Halloween.

Snapped this pic a little while ago. I don't know why I like it so much. Perhaps because helooks like such a rough a tumble boy there?

Adammon, I hope this doesn't offend, but your wife looks just like you. I might've guessed you were siblings.

He shouldn't be offended, this happens all the time with couples. I don't know what it is, but married couples usually start to look alike.

I'm of the opinion that all Canadians look the same. So that's probably what you're seeing.

I guess we'll disagree. I actually thing the things you named are the most similar. Especially the eyes and the proportions and distances, allowing for some sexual dimorphism.

Check it out: their eyes are actually almost identical. The only thing I did was scale, maintaining aspect ratio.

The sexual dimorphism is your problem. "Allowing for it" dismisses the orbital frontal bones (you know, his differently shaped eye socket.) But Jesus man, you can't say their nose bridges are the same, nor their face length to width. The mandible's mental foramens, (chin) are also different. Her eyes' Orbicularis palpebral portion, (eyelids) are shaped differently as you near her eyebrow. Other than the fact that they are both white and aren't hideously disfigured symmetrically, they don't really look alike at allow unless that dimorphism allowance is large enough for the Titanic.

Well okay, we disagree. I think the eye shape is the same, the overall impression given by the mouth widths, the broad cheeks, the button termination on the nose combined with the downward hook (here allowing for the broader male nose size). Chins and eye orbits are precisely where you have to allow for dimorphism. Yeah, the skull shapes aren't the same, but the features painted on look much more similar than "generic white" to me. I'm not trying to say they're identical twins, I said they look similar enough to be siblings.

In any case, it was a casual observation, not intended to be taken scientifically, nor meant to imply anything other than that.

If we're going to get all Gray's Anatomy up in this, I'd like to point out that foramina are basically just holes in the bone, which allow for passage of things like nerves and blood vessels. I think you want the mental protuberance.

*hands in her Art Snob card for a hole-punch*

Well, I had no idea what the palpebral portion is; the foramen is just one of those facts that stuck, for whatever reason.

i need a Minority Report/star trek like UI where I can touch the bit I'm talking about and get its name without having to thumb through thirty pages of other layers.
