I did sneaky hacker thing except..

For example, when they said I should go through that one gang area without being seen, I did exactly that, by shooting everyone in the head without actually being discovered. Not a single gang member survived, and I still got credit for the mission objective

Yeah, I'm the guy that didn't sneak. I just blew the holy shit out of everyone. I had a massive body count. Especially at
panchea, boy I did not spare the machine gun fire there. Or the mines.

The game is good, real good but has some flaws, more Pros and Cons.

Pros :

- Beautiful game with great voice acting across the board. Sure some people will find some comments racist and shit but honestly, I think it's realistic and is a part of the game universe.

- Tranq dart effects are beatiful to watch, so are the double takedowns.

- LOVE THE HACKING.

- Currently at the part where I need to infiltrate the Chinese medical facility. These cities ARE HUGE, full of interesting things, the game really doesn't feel linear as fuck. Lots of secrets and hidden notches. A lot of funny Easter eggs. I like the many many npcs with interesting things to say.

- I find the animations pretty damn solid.

- Beyond a few random crashes, the game runs smooth as hell.

Cons :

- I still find the game incredibly easy even on hard. In fact, I'll have to boldly state it's been noobed up a lot. Many times it's there's far too many ways to get into places. I'd sneak expertly and do things only to realize that there's another way I could have done it if I moved a big box (and waste Praxis points) to open a vent. Why a big tough guy would sneak in a vent is beyond me.

- Ammo placement is ridiculous. Let me place this shotgun or a clip of ammunition in the middle of a hotel with 50+ guests walking around. This kind of removes me from my immersion in this very realistic looking game.

- Still on the subject on the ease of the game... first boss battle was a joke. He comes in with a minigun on his arm, I died the first time. Why? I resorted on using a shotgun. I hated myself for it. First time I died in the game, stupidly. When I restarted I played my character correctly. Sneaking around pillars, using my cloak to get away from him and sniping tranq darts at him from across the room. I beat him and got a cut scene where he's bleeding with holes in him and shit. I WAS ANNOYED since I only used tranq darts on him. Was very easily and an enjoyable boss battle. I played it again for shits and giggles and LMAO when he killed himself by lopping random grendades around to try to find me only to have it bounce off a wall at his feet and killing himself.

- Beyond that my only fault with the game is the weird battery mechanism I mention before.

If there's anything you want me to read in spoiler, quote my post. Thanks

I cheered when we had to go to Montreal... au STADE OLYMPIC! Hacking into the terminals was a joy, the amount of Quebecor jokes was very enjoyable. :)

The boss battle with the russian woman was incredibly easy. The fact that Eliza was telling me when she was coming was beyond trivializing. On the subject of Eliza, I kinda of had the impression she was an AI.

Went back to Detroit. I liked how they changed things around. I LOVED the showdown during the press conference with Taggert. In fact, I love ALL big dicussions when you analyse them and pick your choices.

Went back to China, survived the ambush... felt like a pro saving Fly Girl. :)

Currently running some side missions and about to head into Harvester territory.

This really is a good game and I'm happy I payed full price for it. They deserve it.

Now to finish it before tomorrow... DEAD ISLAND AWAITS.

Just finished the game. Seriously, ALL boss battles were extremely easy. The one who looked like a mass of meat was a bit more interesting since the dragon bitch used her abilities to fuck up my interface (nice job eidos!) so I ran around paranoid as fuck but after 7-8 tranqs he went down like a little bitch.

The final battle was an absolute joke, I didn't even get shot once and it was over in 2 minutes. I turned/hacked everything off and stood in front of her as she was helpless and shot her with a few tranq shots in the ass. I mean really people! Where le challenge asti!

Loved how beautiful Panacea looked and the crazed zombie-like augs was hilarious.

Did anyone else finish the game with 1-2 praxis kits to spare and completely maxed out on skills? I hacked EVERYTHING.

I thought the speeches with Darrow FANTASTIC.

And the ending felt very... abrupt.. though I did enjoy the cut-scenes A LOT. Very nice speeches.

Overall a great game and worthy to play.

I've not played DEx:HR, so could someone tell me if this video is a commentary on modern games in particular, or is it a parody of Human Revolution specifically?

O

Overflight

Ugh. That video really annoys me. I understand that it MIGHT be a parody of modern gaming in general, but as a parody of the game itself, it looks like it was made by someone that had a glance at early game footage and extrapolated from there. Case in point:

* The object highlighting is off by default in the highest difficulty. In fact (and I was kind of embarrassed to admit this at first, but I've seen other people do the same) it's kind of NECESSARY in this game because the amount of detail and clutter: for example, some critical notes are hidden in bookshelves or under tables and are very hard to make out otherwise and it can get quite boring running around desks to find out which drawers open and which don't (which are otherwise identical).

* There isn't that amount of handholding. The tutorial videos can be skipped at will and from the plant onwards, you are absolutely on your own. In fact, I've read several reviews that praised the fact that the game "treats you like an adult and lets you make your own choices"

* "This is a dead body". That's pretty critical for a pacifist run. Unconscious and dead bodies look the same and sometimes they die unexpectedly from actions as innocuous looking as moving the bodies around too much.

* The pre order DLC is pretty bullshit though. And this new "Missing Link" DLC sounds equally bullshit, as I claimed above.

dead island is preloading right now because it's released tomorrow in Europe. I'm afraid of the launch shenanigans

I just got to Singapore in Deus Ex HR and I have over 1000 rounds of heavy rifle ammo to go with my fully upgraded heavy rifle. I can't wait to start the shenannigans.

The final area will be a treat for you with boundless amounts of ammo you cold blooded killer you. No spoilers or nuthin'.

I didn't shoot, him anyone in the final stagem unless you mean the boss, who was helpless in front of me

Started playing this myself recently, after hearing such good things about it. I have to say I am torn, as I want to play a stealthy pacifist but a lot of the time that means sneaking around and (because I can sometimes suck at timing) reloading saves. There are times I almost wish I could go in guns blazing, but that would remove my bonuses, obviously. Plus the fact that my guy can't seem to aim worth beans and seems to die if even a few bullets hit him.

Is it just me, or is the person that did the music for this inspired by Mass Effect? I swear in the beginning I was waiting for Shepard to jump out.

Right now I am just keeping up the stealth options and also took the social enhancer, so that I could talk my way into things. Plan to try maxing out hacking, stealth, and all the movement enhancements like the fall damage nullifier, jump enhancer, etc. Still considering if I want to take cloaking or just stick with regular old stealth. So many options.

The biggest problem with being sneaky is that if you go that way the boss fights will be brutal, regardless of what Jay says. That first boss fight was a motherfucker for me because my build was sneaky/hacky.

The second boss fight was even worse. She sneaked just as well as me.

I had no combat or sneak skills when I fought the first boss. I'd put everything into hacking better and jumping higher and lifting heavy things. That first boss was a God damn nightmare. The Penny Arcade comic was exactly true in my case.

The first boss was annoying, but after 2 loads i managed to kill him.The second boss though.... placed an EMP Mine then unloaded a hailstorm of Heavy Rifle Bullets into her head.

Take two praxis points. Purchase the typhoon system, and stock up on typhoon ammo.

I call it the problem solver, works great for bosses.

I got rid of mine. Every time I tried to sneak, instead of F3 & F4 to walk quietly and use my SUPER VISION, I'd accidentally hit F2 and kill everyone around me.

The typhoon is the last augment i bought because i really had no other options left.

Man, that shit is overpowered.

I kept doing that too, so I just reassigned the typhoon key to "t" so it never happened again.

You know, I am rather dissapointed with how my playthrough is going while I look back at it, I kind of wanted to attempt to neutralize all the terrorists in the warehouse mission but I instead avoided them for the most part. I am thinking this weekend I might end up starting over and try for a full takedown, pacifist, ghost. It will be more difficult, but I think in the end will feel more rewarding.

Also I just learned that gunning down those guys in the beginning already messed up my pacifist trophy, which stinks since I thought as a tutorial it would give me a pass on that one.

I started as a murdering tool. And when I got my silencer for my pistol the fuckers never stood a chance. Fuck that pacifist stuff. I get enough of that in my real life. In games I want to crack a few heads and giggle as I hide the bodies.
