[Gaming] Elder Scrolls 5 - Dawnguard is HERE!

Just started my Argonian Swordslizard. By crunching into Smithing right away, I already have some really great equipment (already getting ready to make Scale)... but that first dragon KICKED. MY. ASS. Which is really strange, as I can bulldoze through bandit.

The newest patch is out & it breaks shit pretty bad.

This ruins resistances and has clipping issues with dragons. This has not been verified by Bethesda yet so take it with a grain of salt. Personally, I think I'm going to wait if I have the choice.
Consider this confirmed from me. I've killed dragons who aren't moving, zip across the sky, give me a soul when they die, and aren't dragon bones afterward. Oh, and minutes later another clipping dragon appears.

2-H weapons are awesome in this game. I can hardly kill a single bandit with a sword or dagger even dual wield...
Lemme tell you, ever since I got the Savage Strike one-handed perk, my enemies seem to just have all kinds of defective necks.... damn heads keep coming right off.

That is odd because my cuurrent and first character is a light armour two hander and I destroy most dragons, even won a battle of two dragons and a lich like thing, as well as a battle of a bunch of bears and a dragon that dropped on me mid combat. I oly recently upgraded my armour after I started finding my guy would randomly get faceplanted by enemies.

Also I think the RNG can be heavy, I was fighting a bear and I was pacing his damage before I wasted health pots and the damage was failry consisteant but then the bear super mega crit I think and I went down. Maybe that is what happened on your first dragon?

With magic the trick is once you get the "Impact" perk. It's just past dual-handed casting. One-on-one, as long as you have more mana, they're dead. They're constantly staggered, and so never move or attack. Before that, rely on Lydia, a conjured monster, and/or just pots to get you by. Once you have that, you don't get hit.

I have that. So far I haven't seen that big of an...wait for it...impact. They still run at me like banshees on crack.

You have to be careful to be dual-casting correctly too. Hold both mouse buttons at once. If you're seeing two projectiles (in the case of fireball), you're doing it wrong. That can happen if you don't click them both at the "same" time. Dual-casting means that both your hands kinda hold one fireball between them.

Beyond that... I dunno.

You have to time it right too, if they're still staggered from the first shot, the second won't do anything. They have to have completely recovered from the stagger to be staggered again.

New thing that fills me with childish glee: pickpocketing briarhearts.

Ashen Aylkarron ventured into the world of Skyrim last night. Sword-and-Board, will be levelling Resto when I get around to it.... right now, I'm having too much fun BASHING THE SHIT out of things with my shield. Seriously... shieldbashing FTW.

Mudcrab? Bash.
Draugr? Bash.
Bandit? Oh yeah, you KNOW it!

Wow... I am going to have to try this later, but I just found out that my Skyrim Wife, Aela, has a unique ability no other Follower has. If you equip her with the Nettlebane dagger, which I have sitting in my house in Whiterun, she has the ability to be commanded to instantly assassinate humanoid characters. That is going to be the first thing I try when I get home.

Personally Dave I go for the Mace/Sword combo. BASH BASH CHO... oops. Bashed to hard. No need to chop.

No kidding. I need a better mace those. This exquisite Steel Mace, while awesome could be deadlier.

I'm currently rocking a Dwarven Mace, mainly because I'm too low in level to get Malachite or Ebony ingots. Despite this, I have 100 Smithing and am beginning to work on my enchanting.

Most of the orc forts have ebony mines attached to them and the orcs are generally pretty good folk despite all being into Malacath.

Malacath's only an asshole if your not an Orc, Troll, or Ogre. He may love bloodshed and battle, but he does look out for those who worship him.

Really, only half of the Daedric princes are REALLY bad. Some of them can even qualify as good or at least neutral.

- Miridia: She might be pushy, but her crusade against the Undead has made Tamrial safer on the whole.
- Azura: Azura only cares about the future and guiding people to their destinys. Openly worshiped by many.
- Nocturnal: She's not a big fan of bloodshed and she guides the luck of all the thieves of the world.
- Sanguine: He's all about debauchery and drunkenness. Generally of the kind that doesn't get people killed.
- Malacath: As stated above, loves to fight but also very protective.
- Sheogorath: He's a bit of a wild card... on a bad day he'll rip out your intestines and use them to jump rope, but on a good day he'll save your life and let you live in his domain, surround by people who accept you for who you are. For the mad of Tamrial, this is basically paradise.

I'd love to do an assassin style character, but I'm worried the dragons would make it to difficult. Is that style doable?

Sheogorath gave me a wabbajack. Now, I have everything I need - knowledge. Because I know cats can be bats can be rats can be hats can be gnats can be thats can be thises. And that doors can be boars can be snores can be floors can be roars can be spores can be yours can be mine. I must be smart, for the interconnective system is very clear to me. Then why, or wherefore do people keep calling me mad?
Wabbajack. Wabbajack. Wabbajack.

Also - Illyia makes a funny InvinciCrab.

And yet they still worship her and considered her one of the chief people to pray to in the Almisivi religion. For fuck's sake, they built her a giant statue in Skyrim while they were still refugees.
To be fair, people in every province seem keen on putting up at least on statue for every daedric prince.

I'm kind of mad that I haven't seen any reference to Jygallag anywhere.

It's always been apparent that Jygallag was, at best, a temporary thing that comes around every few thousand years and basically wrecks Sheogorath's shit. Considering it's been two hundred years, chances are Sheogorath is back to normal and that's why he took the vacation to begin with.

Yeah, but at the end of Shivering Isles, didn't he say something about truly becoming Jygallag this time or some shit like that. I honestly can't remember, I'm gonna go youtube it.

Yeah, PC becomes Sheogorath, Jyggalag is free to roam Oblivion and ensure order.

You know I had something rather funny happen to me a few days ago that I figured I could tell.

Was wandering around Whiterun, zoomed out, and noticed I still had arrows stuck to me. Like 4-5 arrows, two of which were sticking in my neck. They wouldn't vanish no matter what I did. I stopped to read how to fix it when a guard walked up to me...

"I used to be an adventurer once, but then I took an arrow to the knee."

First thing in my mind... Pft, bitch please...

Quickest fix, type sexchange into the console twice. Also, funniest way to fix it since it doesn't change your face.

The mining town just due south of Windhelm has a malachite mine.
