[Gaming] Elder Scrolls 5 - Dawnguard is HERE!

Yes I'm looking forward to the Masque. Haven't found it yet. I have full sets of Daedric and Dragon Plate, and also have the Spellbreaker (which is Dwarven I think!)

I use unrelenting force all the time. It's great for getting in the first hit. Only time it sucks is when your companion runs in front of you as you are starting your shout. Last night Lydia ran in front of me and I shouted her and two brigands off the side of a mountain. "LYDIA! NOOOOO!!!!"
Unrelenting Force is also good for stopping a dragon's breath. Whenever they're about to blow, I shout it at them and it stops the attack.

I've had zero issues with their breath, but every now and then I run into one that bites me the moment I get close and thats an auto-kill apparently. Bleh.

I just got the Masque of Clavicus Vile. I think I'll be switching from stealthy to heavy armor soon!
Has anyone else been having trouble with stealthy in Light Armor? I used to clank around in a full suit of plate and no one would hear me, but I'm suddenly getting spotted across the room in Dragonscale.

I haven't been buying the armor perks, and it's starting to show. Things are getting tougher, and when they see me, they start punching me in the face pretty hard. Lvl 41 here and trying to get all the shout words right now (probably a little over halfway done).

Not too bad yet, though that may change soon. I noticed it depends on the enemy, though. Certain things see through stealth pretty quick. Dragons don't care if you are stealthy most of the time and for some reason Necromancers in the wild almost always know I'm there.

See, I've actually been able to do stealth kills of dragons on my bower. But I can't even get close enough o backstab on my light armor guy.

Can't wait till they release the toolset next year. I plan to make a few companion characters and attempt some scripting. One follower I find missing is a decent support follower, you know, one that spends most of the time casting heal spells and illusion spells rather then shooting fire and ice all over the place.

I'm around 60 or so on block and heavy armor I think. When I've got my shield up, even a full blast from dragon breath uninterrupted seems to only take me down by 5 or 10%. The only things that really give me a hard time are the highest level vampires - they have this red glowy lifetap drain spell that hurts like a mofo even through all my defenses for some reason, and it hurts like eight bitches on a bitch boat.

Also, got my third house in riften... anybody noticed how all the housecarls seem to be hairstyle/voice actress swaps of Lydia? Now I've got a regular Lydia (Brunette), a redhead Lydia, and a blonde Lydia. What's next, bald Lydia?

I can't wait for the toolset to come out so someone can make a decent house. All the houses are fucking terrible.

Is it too much to ask for a house with lots and lots of chests, strongboxes, drawers and barrels? I only have the houses in Whiterun and Windhelm so maybe the other ones are better. I like lots of storage solutions (I still wish you could place chests).

I only just this weekend figured out that the bookshelves in Whiterun have discrete upper and lower shelves that count separately.

All the houses are shit. There's always something glaringly shitty about each and every one of them. I think this is on purpose to make future DLC more appealing. Oblivion DLC was mostly nifty new player housing.

Honestly, all I want is a house with all the crafting implements in a single area, no loading.
I remember mentioning that in one thread.

You know what would be awesome? Something like a small village you actually build, like it starts out pretty much empty with broken down buildings, but as you do quests and invest gold you build up the buildings and can even ask people to live there. Maybe even form a new territory and become a Jarl.

Winterhold would actually be a nice city to do this, considering how broken down it is, but I feel the city gets a bit overshadowed by the Mages College.

I remember one Bandit Lair that had most of the crafting stations... and I wished that I could make that my home and start rebuilding the keep.

Or too bad you can not set up your own village.

That's called "Morrowind". That's basically the "house" you were able to get from Hlaalu I think, it was built from the ground up, and had an outbuilding, and a wall around it and everything. IIRC. Been a while. Telvanni was cool too in that they GREW your house out of a massive plant, which was cool, but it was way too out-of-the-way.

For myself, I plan to augment Hjerim with a few more containers (I agree with everybody else on that front), specifically in the "secret" room crafting area. The apothecary satchel ON TOP OF the alchemy table in Breezehome was great. I'm basically going to copy that, and do something similar on the enchanting table. I hope to make it "balanced" in that it'll only appear when you buy the upgrade for the house, and not just there 100% of the time too, but if I need to "ham-hand" it in to make it work, I'll do that too.

Personally I also plan on changing how some of the skill perks work. IMO you shouldn't have to spend perks on some of the things (specifically, the magic-related ones that reduce mana cost, and similar "percentage" stuff in the weapons and armour), leaving the perks more for "cool stuff that's optional" rather than "get this or die." So hopefully I'll be able to integrate something that'll automatically grant them as your skill hits the right milestones. Should be possible if there's any existing script run on any skillup event. This mod wouldn't be for everybody of course, but it's how I'd like to do it.

Archmage's quarters aren't bad. You have a lot of storage areas and respawning ingredients. No smithing, but still.

Actually you gave me an amazing idea for a modification.

Example. There is a mine right outside Riverwood. You pretty much pass it on the way to the town. It has a bunch of iron but also bandits, and a forge and various tools at the center. Once you clear the place out it's pretty much empty, even so close to Riverwood. Wouldn't it be cool if these place could be reclaimed? Like maybe I report that I clear the place out and the Jarl gives me the power to put a claim on the mine, workers go there and I get a cut of the profits or materials? I can even visit them and watch them working.

Or better yet, maybe I don't want to share it. Why don't we have a bandit faction? Imagine I clear out the bandits or even beat the down and spare some. They now work for me and will mine up the place giving me a cut. Sooner or later I can take over enough bandit groups to literally become some type of bandit king.

I know all this is possible, if someone has the skill with the toolset. Hope I am not the only one thinking about it.

Help... I caved in and ordered it... Oh my god, what have I done? I'm expecting my first born in January, and what have I DONE??? Saying goodbye to my real life, for sure... I hope I won't miss the birth of my child... :Leyla:
