[Webcomic] The Order of the Stick thread

As a PC who once had to search the palace sewers for a lost item, and whose adventures in te sewers have only just begun APPARENTLY, I totally sympathize with having to fight what I can only describe as a poo golem.

I love how I haven't played any variety of D&D for over 20 years, and I still immediately recognized the creature as an Otyugh/Neo-Otyugh. Some things you just don't forget.

Am I the only one who thinks the Resistance is now royally screwed? So far it has looked like that Xykon doesn't even know they are there - or even if he does, he doesn't consider them worth diddly, after all they're just killing goblins whom Tsukiko then uses to bolster the ranks of the ghoul corps.

But now when - and I do believe it's when rather than if - Xykon finds out they have his phylactery, he's gonna grind them all to paste.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the world's most horrifying Illustrator glitch!

However, now only Redcloak and the good guys are going to know where the phylactery is.

That does explain why Redcloak came alone, though.

Except Team Evil shouldn't be coming, because the phylactery hasn't been officially found... :ninja:
Redcloak still needs to use the gate. Now he's just got some leverage with Xykon that he's been so desperately needing.

No way, dude. Tarquin appears to make the right decisions entirely by reading the situation and never enters situations where he has a way to lose. Redcloak had to earn being genre savvy the hard way, and, even then, he has set himself in a situation where failure is possible.

Plus, if Tarquin loses, all he has to think about is "Well, I got to live like a god for years." If Redcloak loses, he only has "Well, my people are still going to get slaughtered and even the people who need them most are going to think of them as expendable."
