[Webcomic] The Order of the Stick thread

Redcloak still needs to use the gate. Now he's just got some leverage with Xykon that he's been so desperately needing.
If that was true he'd have little need to kill the witnesses... and Xykon is Chaotic, he has no idea how he'd react to threats...

And he doesn't really need leverage considering that X wants to do the ritual anyway, and there's nothing left of his family or anyone else that he might need to keep safe from X...

At most, especially since Burlew has shown he's pretty good at being more subtle then straight up blackmail, he'll keep the knowledge to himself until X actually is on the verge of getting rid of him...

I'm just gonna blurt out the obvious here and say that one of these days those two are going to have a fight of epic proportions.

That or Redcloak manages to kill Tsukiko when Xykon isn't looking and pin the blame on someone else.

I really want the OotS books, only one I currently have is Don't Split the Party because I found it in my local game store one day.

I honestly wish he'd just go with a publishing market of some sort, like Image or Dark Horse. They'd have a better time keeping the books in stock, would they not? Not to mention better/wider distribution?

They would also want control of his IP or a substantial investment from him to match it's worth. He would also make FAR less from each book, to the point where it may actually make him more money to just do it like he is now.

I don't buy that, entirely. Both Image and Dark Horse allow much more freedom over the IP. Hellboy, for example, is owned entirely by Mike Mignola but distributed exclusively through Dark Horse. IP owners from Image have all the control for their property, including movie rights, etc. It's not like DC or Marvel where they would own the rights to the characters, name, etc.

On the flip side, though, those Kickstarter pledge rewards are awesome, and he's got over half his goal in under 24 hours.

Well the result was obvious from the last strip... it's not like Redcloak would allow anything to get in the way of what basically is the only reason he put up with all teh horrible things Xykon did to his brother's family...
