Please don't buy Star Control 2 on GoG. The freeware Ur-Quan Masters you can get right off the internet is superior in every way. The GoG version is just Atari grasping at any money they can get from Accolade's corpse.
 
Man, Alone in the Dark: New Nightmare was so disappointing to me...
New Nightmare wasn't TERRIBLE. It was a perfectly serviceable Resident Evil clone. The Problem was that it was part of a series that DIDN'T have combat as the main focus of game play.

Now Alone in the Dark 2008? That was fucking awful.

I didn't say it was terrible, I said it was dissapointing.
 
Sounds awesome. Wouldn't have given it a second thought without that comment actually.
I would say it's more a game of social intrigue and rebellion during an era where women were often supposed to be seen and not heard, but those events do happen. I believe there is some lesbian subtext as well, but it's pretty subtle. Basically, it's a well written game about being a rebellious girl in the 20's.

Also, it's mostly text. Get used to reading.
