[Webcomic] PVP Discussion

I just realized something... Val's going to be roleplaying Binwin Bronzebottom, isn't she? Because Kurtz has this strange idea that Binwin is somehow interesting.

We all know that the only interesting character from that roleplaying group was Jim Darkmagic.
Jim Darkmagic <3

Though, I enjoyed all of Wil Wheaton's characters, too.

Oh... my... god. You're probably right.

DAMN YOU KURTZ!

No, what's REALLY going to happen is she's gonna say that she inherited the character from her father when she first started playing.

Then we all get to slap Scott in the face.

I think it's be super cool if she had a huge buildup for her legacy character and then it ended up being Jim or Aeofel.

Truth.

What was Jerry Holkins' character even named, anyway? I barely even remember that guy existing in those podcasts.

He's free! Now watch this storyline end.
This would also be hilarious.

Monday: Skull shakes his head at some antic Scratch is up to. He just won't act like a cat!
Tuesday: Jade and Brent argue over a new piece of furniture Brent purchased. An exact replica of the throne from Game of Thrones. Oh, Brennnnt!
Wednesday: Francis asks Skull to watch the door while he and Marcy go inside for some "fun." Skull tells Francis he gets next game. Skull, you're so oblivious!
Thursday: Cole walks by the door, Skull begins going "WOOP WOOP, DANGER!" Cole tells Skull to stop fooling around and go do something productive. Cole walks in and "Hey Francis, I need you to a-WHAAAAA??"
Friday: Cole congratulates Francis on his work-time-blowjay, and do a BJ-FIVE!

Mark my words!

(edited to prevent fanfictions of the worst kind.)

I'd... I'd actually be okay with that...

Anyone remember that time Skull and Brent switched bodies, and Skull had sex with Jade without Jade ever knowing it was skull, and she never found out?

Man, classic PVP.

Okay, I'm seriously having trouble understanding the motivation of this Alan fellow here. In the beginning it sounded like he wanted to do the Mines of Madness because he wanted people to recognize him as he saw himself: the ultimate gamer (something established back in the D&D story where he was said to have a killer deck). Now it's starting to sound like he just wanted his character back just so he could torment his fellow players.

...

Okay, never mind. I figured out his motivation: he's a douche. I'm still going to say I would have preferred if he hadn't just flipped a switch to change motivations, but I guess I'm reading the wrong comic for that.

It is actually a pretty boring story so far. Lots of build up with characters we have no investment in that promises either a quick conclusion that is unsurprising and matters little to us because we have no investment or a long, drawn out story that feels tedious because we have no investment.

Only if you quit reading.
I wonder how many people will. On the one hand, I'm hoping for something like Penny Arcade's "Trapped in the mall with zombies" story arc, which would up being awesome. If Kurtz actually shows their characters in the dungeon, and does an action scene or two, that would really make PVP great again, or at least show that there's greatness still to be had. If it just keeps on being "two or three characters against a solid color background, talking, for 4 panels," I don't see a reason to continue reading it. These are unlikable characters that we generally have no investment in.

I was a little... disturbed, to be honest.

Also, disappointed at today's strip. The old "You detect no traps" gag, whoop-de-hey-nonny-nonny-doo...
