Who was the girl in the 3rd panel?
Welp. Guess we're moving on to an E3 storyline. Or a one-off strip. Either way, boo.
I dunno, but looked a bit like a relative or cheap clone of Val to me.

I think I've been rather courteous in my criticism of Mr Kurtz's work... But this? This is just a complete bucketload of shit for an ending. We get
- NO interaction between Val and Skull beyond them being suddenly boyfriend and girlfriend, I guess...?
- NO explanation why the skinny I-forget-what-the-bloody-hell-his-name-is Sheldon Cooper wannabe is a monster
- NO explanation why they are suddenly legend for fucking up this supposedly terrifying dungeon crawl
- NO show of actual horror in the Mines of Madness; in fact beyond the tiresome "you find no traps" joke the whole bloody dungeon seems to have been a bore. I mean seriously, a troll as the big baddy? FRAKKIN' SERIOUSLY?!

I'd say I'm going to give up reading him because of how badly he botched the storyline, but ever since I came back to the forum I get a kind of Schadenfreudian glee out of watching the comic tumble downhill. I go to the comic daily just so I can keep up on the conversation here.
This place messes with you, man.
I don't understand the Sheldon Cooper comparison. Aesthetically, there is some similarity in that they're both slender with dark hair. Other than that, the characters are nothing alike in personality or mannerism.
I mean, there's plenty of stuff to criticize without making really loose comparisons.

She kind of looks like Wilma or Pebbles from The Flintstones. Or maybe someone from an Archie comic.
It's one of those things where you don't see a character from a profile view for so long, and you finally do it and it looks super weird!

Today's Jade-en-profile looks better than yesterdays. Which either means he didn't practise before yesterday, he redid it because of "fan" backlash, or he was just lazy and didn't bring his best yesterday. All three are bad. Also, it's still not great.
Also also, we *have* seen Jade en profile, just not this verson of Jade, I think
But original Jade was done more like a Picasso Jade. Eyes Visible on both sides of her face.

Jesus Christ... People are pissed off he dropped the story like a suitcase full of bricks, and all he feels is elation that people give a damn?
And being gaming legends because you got to the last room of a dungeon crawl? Not finishing it, but getting to the end when beyond the overused trap gimmick we see practically nothing worth such difficulty to make that effort praiseworthy? I can't face palm that hard; I'd be splattering my brains through the wall.

My personal take on this is that SK got to all the "character" that he could build, got scared/bored and switched back to characters that he doesn't have to think about for awhile.
WRITE THE DAMN STORIES THAT YOU ARE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING AND NOBODY WILL CARE IF JADE AND BRENT HAVEN'T BEEN IN THE STRIP FOR A MONTH!

Guys, to be fair here. Walking down a featureless tunnel, having a party member fall down a trap door, and then getting to a troll - a troll guys! - is a big deal. Not just anyone's characters could have done that. Nevermind that they didn't actually do anything, or accomplish anything other than getting beat down and chased away by the dungeon, and literally any group of level 1 characters could have done everything that they did. They're heroes! Celebrities! Appreciate their glory!
Don't worry. In a few days he'll post "I'm overwhelmed by the positive response to my epic story arc. After I posted the closure article my inbox was bombarded by fans who were in favor of my arc. Several indicated that if you didn't get the storyline you are in idiot and really have no business reading such a fantastic comic." And he did get extra traffic from the Wizard tweets so that's a plus. "With all those new fans coming in from Wizard I had better show them what they can expect from my epic strip." Immediately kills storyline.
