Heh, I've always been enclosing my portals, too, since there was a bug in the first version of them when the nether was brand new that they would occasionally, very rarely, leak a ghast.

Until/unless they are changed from melee-only, mowing them down in hallways is not really a problem.

Pigmen are passive unless you try to attack them.
If you do attack them, you anger every pigman within a certain radius, and they all hunt you down.
Eventually, they will forget, but until then, any nearby pigman you run across will be out for your blood.
Luring a bunch into a single-wide tunnel keeps them from mobbing you.
Placing a single block chest high between you and them keeps them from engaging you at all. Alternatively you can stand on a pillar too tall for them to reach.
Using a bow means you get a lot of gold nuggets (or you can bury them in lava, but this takes longer since they resist fire and you can't collect their drops).

So those are small versions. Where/how can I host large (28MB each) versions? I'm assuming I can't just put it as an attachment to the post like these ones.
Btw, I used the program mcmap for this. You don't get pixel-resolution (unfortunately) but it's really really fast, and it's very-near pixel resolution, so "good enough" for now for me, and it worked on these. The renders took less than a minute each (64-bit version of course).

Minus.com has no limit to image size, I believe, just a 50GB storage limit. Or you could use Mediafire.com or something like that.

I'm not particularly enthused about all the new stuff being added into Minecraft, but this looks pretty cool. Hope it gets implemented.

Can break blocks like the Ender Dragon. He can break blocks, but it looks like it's because the Wither skulls are also explosive.

My husband has started getting into playing on servers rather than the single player game, but has been disappointed with what he found out there. I told him you guys have a server and that I'm sure you wouldn't mind if he joined. Would it be ok if he came over to play?
While I'm sure GasBandit would be happy to whitelist him, would your husband be interested in playing on what is now essentially a ghost server? Looks like no one has even logged on in the past couple days. Also, looks probable that Dave isn't going to renew the subscription on the server, so after December 7th Caprica/Ragnar will be no more.

I just told him all that, but he didn't say whether he wants in or not. He might still do it just because he can for a while. He's pretty bored sitting around the house still.

Argh. Something must have changed in the... gah. Sigh, I'll have a look at it tonight.
What's his username so I can whitelist him? The way I had it set up (which might be broken now due to updates, of course) he could log in and look around but not build or dig or use doors or chests unless I put him on a whitelist... so I need to do that, and I need to know his exact username to be able to do so.

The "every update breaks mods for 2 months" thing soured me more on minecraft than anything else.
At least multiverse seems pretty version agnostic (sudden inexplicable need for fire blocks aside). Maybe it'd just be easiest if I stripped out everything but multiverse and just went otherwise vanilla. But then the minecarts wouldn't work again without craftbook, and we need fire suppression... GAH.

K. It's no rush, I generally don't get off work until 6 central at the earliest, and like I said, even if I haven't whitelisted him yet he should be able to get on and look around.
I dunno about the minecarts you've been making (or the ones in Ragnar) but the ones that I've made on Caprica are vanilla powered-rail-operated ones.

Yeah, but the dispensers were broken last I remembered trying, even back when I was still playing. That's why just about all the rails in Caprica are vanilla tech only.
Could have sworn there was something else we were using craftbook for.

Not until either:
1) Dave figures out how to fix it, and decides to give a shit
or
2) Somebody gives me a shit transplant so I have shits to give again.
Bear in mind, you can still GO to creativeland... it's just you'll be there in survival mode instead of creative.
