Other than that... well, the demographics are skewed towards the American/Canadian demographic between 25 to 40 enjoying a wide range of geeky pastimes, with a fair smattering of artistic talent, weird humor and (most often) good-natured ribbing towards each other's tastes. Also, due to the history of Halforums, PvP and Scott Kurtz tend to get somewhat harsher treatment. Also, many of the male forumites sport beards.
Shit...we can be categorized. I never realized that.

My name is Will. I do not have boobs (well midlife manboobs do not count).
Nice to meet you.

 Do not insult the honorable reputation of da Boobies by comparing them to moobs! Da Boobies are prized and cared for!

Faux pas aside, welcome! I'm no longer the newbie now! YAY!

Ok, now it's Ranger's turn. My berserk buttons are Taiwan's international status and having someone point out I'm a desperately lonely otaku.
I think I've been pretty outspoken about the things that make me plan on sending you a bottle of liquor for Secret Santa - liquor that is actually drained from my kidney piss bag

Also, you are going to die during the next power outage, still believing you live in a country that's NOT Communist in disguise. How am I doing?

Good man!

I get a lot of greif for the things I like. I just wanted to get all of that stuff out of the way, in case any of you had a problem with it.

Sallright, sallright. To let you know I like generally all the things you said you like. A bit on the fence on the Star Wars novels, but you like a lot of cool stuff. Welcome to Halforums!

Thanks. Nice to see someone that likes the nerdy stuff.

(Gonna be a pain in the butt converting them all to kindle :aaah:)

Well, Danne m' boy, you seem like a decent fellow... or fellowette, if that is the case. So no, I'm not going to give you any grief; granted I find some bronies annoying as hell, but that's more about them being annoying persons rather than what their choice of fandom is.

So... welcome to the madness. Prepare to be torn a new one if you step into the discussions involving steak or eggs, don't feed the grue and don't piss off the mods. You would not like the mods when we're pissed off.

Nah, just kidding. Just follow the rules (in summation: don't be a dick), have fun and hopefully stick around. Just out of curiosity, though: how did you find this here corner of the Internet?

Strangely, I was looking up that brony thing Fox ran, and found that discussion here.

So which Doctor is your favorite? How do you cook your steak? Bacon or no bacon?

Think carefully on these as you will be quizzed.

And welcome!

It's a brony! Get'im!

Wait, no, I mean he likes his steak medium! Get'im!

Err, I mean, he writes fanfiction! Get'im!

Dammit, I can't figure out how we're supposed to scare off this new guy. He's just too diverse and cool.

Guys I think we'll have to keep him.

You get at least 39 1/2 brownie points!

That whole series gets a bad wrap. The vong mess with the good vs. evil thing Star Wars has had. Personally,I think the vong are interesting villains. The fact that they aren't felt in the force bugs a lot of people. But, the only reason they're not felt is an absense of midichlorians. (they're stupid, I know. But, another book, Darth Plageious, describes them as receiver for the force. Go by that, and the whole concept becomes much more palpable.)

Wait...am I thinking of the right book title? Its that the one where...a certain character dies by the son of his best friend.

Edit: The only reason I don't say who it is is because I hate saying that this character was killed off in such a way. Poor furry guy...

Ya. I think he had a bad death, (He died a hero!) and the only reason they killed him off was to make the book have more of an emotional impact. But, I do like how it affects his best friends personality through the next few books in the series.

Like I said, why I feel conflicted about it. On the one hand, its epic and throws the audience a curve-ball. On the other hand...they killed him off. Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeally conflicting emotions right here.

What was that one that was anthology of different characters in the Star Wars universe? Tales from the Mos Eisley canteena? I remember some weird were-wolf story in it.

They have a few of those. That's one of them. Others are tales from the bounty hunters and tales from Jabbas palace. Have you ever read any of the Republic Commando series? I love those books!

No but I'd like to read some more Star Wars books. Haven't read one in like FOREVER! I especially want to read more of the bounty hunter books, that IG-88 dude is cool.

Read the Republic Commando series as soon as possible. It is an amazing series.

And if you don't, I will personally bring the wrath of the vong down on your head!
