Single for two years now, almost three. Closing in on 30 years old, watching all my friends getting married and some have even had kids. It's a bit lonely when I really think about it. Now I hate this thread.

Been with my current girlfriend for approximately nine years. Recently went down to visit her parents to ask them for permission to get married.

Oh, and my girlfriend and I have never have sex.

When my wife and I split up (for 8 months) 2yrs ago, I was in the same boat Cyn, maybe even worse. I was a single dad of two kids and nearing 30 without a college education. I was pretty distraught. Thankfully I drowned my woes in working out daily and changing my eating habits instead of letting go. Which not only gave me alot of energy to go out socializing more often, but also a huge boost in self confidence.

For those 8 months, I had more dates than I ever had in all the years prior to getting married. Don't fret man, it can get alot better.

It's been oh, about 13 years since my last relationship.
I'm not sure there's much of a correlation but a gay friend of mine is the only other person I know that's gone for so long without dating. His issue was that he never actively looked and only really hung out with his friends. He was pretty content with life though and had a good time regardless of his status, but I was just floored by his lack of -care- for the situation.

I've been trying. Cut back on the beer and soda, eating better/no snacking, etc. The working out part hasn't started, but that's partially depression's apathy and partially that it's constantly 9000 degrees out.

Been dating/sleeping with someone for almost 4 months, though exclusivity and the boyfriend/girlfriend titles that go with it are on hold until such a time as she can find permanent employment and move back to Waterloo from Creemore.

I voted dating because it's sliiiiightly more accurate than single.

Two months actually dating, but close for the last two years or so.

The longest I was single was about 13 years as well.

Really, at this point, I'm not even looking. Maybe after I have an established career.

Then again, I've never been one of those people who feel the need to have a partner.

I figured there was a similarity. Well that's a pretty awesome way to look at life, when you're single it's much easier to attain your personal goals. I envy that sometimes.

You're either 41yrs old or claiming to have been single since birth :p
Given the pinkie pie, I'm assuming the latter. There are many people who haven't dated well into their late adulthood.

It's only viewed as unusual because we're culturally conditioned to believe that you should date around in high School/college.

No, I mean claiming the years of 1-15 as single is a bit on the strange side. One would figure you'd start counting your single status from age 14-16 to upward.

I've been single for a year now. My last relationship lasted about two weeks, and went so badly it has kept me off of actively looking ever since. I keep telling myself to worry most about education/career right now, but lately have been considering trying Okcupid.

Together since... Dec 2001. Got Married in 2003 so we've been married for 9 years, together for a little over 11. And we have a chubby little bundle of baby girl joy. Who keeps us very, very busy.
